Problem is that sometimes, when the French Army of Portugal is activated prior to Wellington's landing, its possible to save it by breaking through to Ciudad Rodrigo. Yet if you manage to save them, the army still "reforms" with the same generals and all, once Napoleon appears on the scene. The Cin...

I meant the French Army of Portugal under Junot. Why should French generals disappear with the Cintra event? That's a good question. I'm under the impression that the French Army of Portugal was historically captured by the British after the battle of Vimeiro. That's why there's the Cintra event. An...

The biggest problem is that if you manage to save the Army of Portugal, you still get the Army of Portugal reconstituted with the same generals and all.

If that happens to me...I dump the generals into Lisbon so that they get lost with the Cintra event.

This training bug was introduced in the BOA legacy patch which caused several players reinstalling the previous patch. It also prevented the training officers to upgrade the continentals under their command instead of the outlying militia garrisons which in turn led to massive dismissal of untrained...

Err...just in case...I meant I added some replacements for the pool. Some more oddities I forgot to add previously: 1. 2 Portuguese commanders of Mafra Depots (the arty parks) appear as brigadier generals but their tooltips show them as 2 stars. 2. One brigade under Escourier (spelling?) in Madrid h...

to Offworlder: Incidentally one other gripe I got (sorry just emptying my bag of problems with the game so bear with me ) is that the French should be allowed to build more HQs. I say build because though the original 2 came with Napoleon (so to say), when the conflict dragged on, each marshal becam...

Hmm...maybe I could just reduce the hits and modify the success propability?

The Brits sent some of their single battalion regiments back home to recruit and refit.

to Offworlder: Bear with me coz I'm not exactly a genius in computers. So does this mean that random regiments are lost? Instead of removing the regiments physically, can't we reduce the number of replacements? By 1809 every player will have accumulated a number of replacements. This could work like...

Actually I haven't found that the epidemics have hit me too hard. Maybe it's just me but the units are just a little bit too brittle in this game which leads to a massive consumption of replacements.

Yeah, I figured out that this is the cause of disappearing French units. I have mostly lost single Regiments from Divisions and Brigades but also whole single element Brigades too. Not too much detective work as 1 round later from the 5th Coalition event my units started receiving replacements. Ok, ...

So, when you disband a Division or Brigade most informations related to it, including element names "...

More bugs/stuff on Spanish Ulcer 1.04b

Bought the game a few weeks ago and been playing the Spanish campaign for some time...and noticed these problems: 1. The one element units lose their original (the element name!) name if added into an existing division and/or when disassembling an existing one. For example a French arty unit of 1e B...

Well, as it has already been said...the Brits get massive reinforcements during 1776. Nothing much you can do except to avoid an early showdown.

This is the time when you need to build your army once the continentals become available.

Bought BOA and AACW...like them both. Lack of GC and free time has discouraged me to buy NCP but I think I may have a couple of looks for the demo though and decide later.

The new version of BOA sounds interesting but I think I will have looksee first.

This game was released sometime 1999 methinks and I'm one of the idiots who bought the game. Has anyone else played this one? And to my horror...Zollic...

I'm not happy with my CSA Corps commanders in my current campaign and as Breckinridge is no longer able to get promoted to 2 stars (his 2 models still exist) I was wondering how change this. Noup. You get your reinforcements automatically as new continental and militia regiment enlist. The trick in Boa is to keep your regiments from disbanding. This can be achieved with placing them under "charismatic" (ability) leaders like Washy, Greene and a few others. And with training. The militia...

Yeah but it's no use even if only the elements are trained if the REGIMENT (whose elements have been trained) doesn't get upgraded as they are disbanded in January just like vanilla militia units.

Err...the training works kinda but the trained militia units won't change their status into regular ones. The continental regulars (untrained vanilla) won't turn into undisbandable (is that a word?) trained regiments. Also at the early turns of a campaign the training seems to be global as even mini...

37 and counting. I was an Amiga user in early 90s. Joan of Arc and Lords of the rising sun (2 great games back in the day) introduced me to the strategy genre. I wish that AGEOD would do somethign similar like Joan of Arc (100 years war) and 30 yw. Yeah, I like loooong campaigns.

Any chance for the 30 Years War in future?

Well, I finally downloaded the NCP demo during Xmas as I was down with a hellish flu (meaning I had time off from work).

Great...we've finally arrived to Europe and when Vainglory is finished it will include a political module, right?

Sooo...is there any chance for 30 Years War? :innocent:

Good advice from IronBrigadeYankee. Here's some more: - Keep your eyes on the supply...you don't have much on the frontier and also you won't have enough supply wagons. Your troops can starve/freeze to death out there. - Be prudent when assaulting those outlying British forts/towns...you can't lose ...
