Don't know about the terrain in reality... I do live some 250km away from Mühlhausen and have been there, but I didn't really think about its defensiveness back then  In the game though, it seems to me that the Mühlhausen-Colmar-Straßburg route is by far the easiest to force for the French...

If the Germans choose to go East first, then this gap is definitely the best choice for the French advance. Straßburg is flat terrain, so once you managed to secure Mühlhausen and that other province before it, you can use your superior numbers. And once Straßburg falls, the Germans are in a very to...

Well, the manual says that the highest-ranked leader with most seniority is treated as CiC, no mention of if he is under GHQ command or not. Of course, AGEOD manuals are not always 100 % correct... Frankly, I have no idea how you could even tell if someone is CiC or not? Are the values of generals u...

But even if we assume the Germans make huge and strategically important gains, do you think the Entente would have just made peace? Honest question, I know nothing about that. I guess they did panic in some cases during the Kaiserschlacht, but that seems only natural during a large offensive. One th...

Yes and the war would be over before Christmas! Unfortunately, Moltke made many mistakes and lost the oportunity for a decisive early victory, but in any case, if the Glorious German Empire didn't have to use its forces in so many theaters (being always forced to "lend a hand" to its weaker partner...

A Russia-first plan has some advantages, most importantly the narrow border compared to the huge Russian frontier. On the other hand, it also has many disadvantages, in my opinion way more than advantages... the Western Entente could NEVER be delayed sufficiently with the same amount of forces the G...

I am not at all unhappy sometimes with the AI. Started a game (v1.0) with the Russians and moved after 1914 in a Release Candidate patch (when ready for prime time it will be released, patience!). Not entirely sure when this German move happened, I have not been paying attention but it looks quite ...

Yes, it also takes a very short time. I hope the whole sea zones will be reworked in the next patch or at least at some point. Right now the naval game does not feel quite finished. Will historical forces lead to a historical campaign though? I mean, the German East Africa garrison was always less than 20000 soldiers. At the outbreak of the war, less than 3000. In game, Lettow-Vorbeck starts with 26000 (and can't recruit more, so it's really quite abstracted)! And even now, eve...

Don't forget that he is talking about the AI here. Any half-competent player can simply leave and or ship enough troops to South Africa. I suppose the starting garrison there may be defeated by Lettow-Vorbeck, but just barely. But you can just ship some troops there and it will be 100 % safe. Or rec...

100 % agree. The old interface is way easier and better to use. There are a lot of very questionable UI changes in CW2 and TEAW. They mostly involve repositioning of buttons so that you need more clicks and more mouse movement.

Sibley is almost unwinnable for the CSA but is still a very cool scenario. I don't know if the Mexican War constitutes a DLC of its own, but combined with the Texas Revolution and a couple of Plains War (Indian Wars) scenarios, it would totally be worth it! Yeah, that would be a great expansion pac...

Even if the Mexican army has to be made more organized than it really was, I still think this would make for a great DLC for this game. Especially, as pgr said, as the map is already fully there! Have asked before in some thread but I think it was never answered. There are some countries you can not declare war on, for example Spain. Will those always remain neutral or can you still get them to join your faction through diplomacy? I would think that for example Spain would make an excellent ...

I know nothing about modding, so can not answer your actual question.
However, if you want to force the war plans for your own games agaist the AI you can just load the first turn as each of the three factions, select the war plans and save the turn.
