I think I have a similar problem with my PBEM, my blocade runnners seem to bringing in MORE war supplies even though the blocade is 45% (was previously about 6/4 WS in the Atlantic and Gulf respectively, now is more 8/6 WS).

Edit - latest save attached.

I will strongly second this recommendation. My first two PBEM games were a complete waste of time. As a newbie, I went the historical route of calling for volunteers with $1000 bounty. Both my opponents went full mobization with maximum income. So my choice of volunteers provided 256 conscript poin...

The supply phase is split in three segment. In each segment supply can be pushed up to 5 regions away from a stock to a destination (and each nation has several dozens of stocks to move to needing destinations). So if you have 2/3 and not 3/3, the last segment will be done by chariot and not rail, ...

I would not recommend letting the AI have a slight fog of war bonus, certainly not at Normal aggressiveness or above, as it seems to go wild on the offensive and completely neglect it's defences. I did this in a Union game against the CSA AI, and I walked into Richmond with each in 1862, while the A...

Potential PBEM exploit

Just wondering, due to the WEGO system it is impossible for the non-host to cheat by redoing a turn again, but this isn't the case with the host. As far as I know there is no way of checking whether the host has just saved it once or several times (by going back one turn and redoing his move)? Not s...

For me, the most important aspect is the turn-based WEGO system. There is no reason to use any other system with a computer. Turns are much more tense and realistic when both sides have to try to out guess their opponents plans. Second is the dedication of the Devs to their games. So many Devs seem...

Naval engineers are very useful if you want ships repaired quickly I find. Don't understand why anyone would build sailors though, if the ships that are built are automatically manned when ready.

Each brig has a transport capacity of 1. That means that it can hold 1 money or 1 war supply each successful blockade run. If you have 10 brigs, they can bring back a maximum of 10 items. If they are in a 20% blockade box, they will only bring back a maximum of 8 items. The goods your blockade runn...

Talking of ammo and supplies, I've done some quick maths, and have worked out that the Union can supply for each turn about 100 divisions with supplies, and enough ammo for 25 battles. For the CSA that figure is 70 and 20 respectively. With such high figures (especially for the USA), it makes the wh...

Question about gererals with recruiting officer traits

On the tooltip it says they can recruit new conscripts on a regular basis inside a level 5+ city. What I want to know is if the recruitment increases if you put him inside a bigger city (ie he recruits twice as much in a level 10 city than he does in a level 5 city)?

The basic army structure in AACW is as follows: 1. Elements - the smallest discreet block in the game. Basically equivalent to a battalion of 1000 infantry and cavalry. 2. Brigades - the smallest independent units in the game (you can't split brigades into each of their elements). Can be anything fr...
