Re: Once you go into decadent Old Empire....

glad it works :) the reform decision is one of the 4 that comes up with the citizenship option. The first two help push people to your ethnic group but the third knocks 20% off your accumulated govt age (at the risk of loss of a progress token). Once you are glorious and tier III this is a real bon...

Btw, H.Gilmer, I have enjoyed your Lets Play videos a lot, do you plan to continue them? :dada: Hi RebelYell, I have restarted my Youtube video with Field of Glory:Empires. Oh, actually, I played the Pike and Shot scenario 1683 Vienna from the Holy League side. That was really only a 4-5 video shor...

Re: Grand Alliance PBEM strategy guide thread

Interesting stuff. I just bought the boxed version during the winter sale. I think what truly sold me was I was reading about Eugen of Savor. At 20 he was at the Siege of Vienna with Sobieski!!! And then I read about how he was one of the most accomplished commanders of the times he was in, and I sa...

Don't know if possible....

but since FOGE was able to coordinate battles with FOG. I thought it might be.

What about a Civil War game where the battles are fought in Pike and Shot Campaigns? I downloaded a Civil War scenario and it ran pretty damn good for a tactical battle.

Re: Once you go into decadent Old Empire....

Oh, and one last secondary bonus from doing that. I went from income of +102 per turn to about +411 immediately. And after three turns it says I'm at about +2000 cash/turn.

Nice!

Re: Once you go into decadent Old Empire....

Update: Three turns in and it is kind of already working. First turn I jumped 12 spots in the CDR and +2 each turn after that. I'm about 3 spots away from getting into the upper tier. I played with this idea a while back. I thought about pumping as many people as I could into culture and wondered ho...

Re: Once you go into decadent Old Empire....

One last question on b that just came to me. Would you consider demolishing things that have high decadence generation, like say Gambling Rings, in regions that have high accumulated decadence?

Re: Once you go into decadent Old Empire....

Ok, thanks for the information! I will have to give one of those a try.

Are the Antigonids better at managing a big empire? They have/or had a much larger empire than mine and kept on rocking the Glorious Empire, while I slouched toward Old Empire.

Re: Leader quality bonus

Yeah, I'm playing Rome and I'm no where near getting those kinds of numbers. And my military rating is well above 4 because I purposely raised it above 4 through a dedicated program of building military buildings. I also have several military academies that are supposed to give you better generals.

Re: Once you go into decadent Old Empire....

So in b. you can determine which regions are producing more decadence than reducing it. Or basically decadence is being generated and you don't have enough preceptor, courthouse, tribunal, prison whatever to reduce it so that it is going lower each turn. And get rid of those regions or get them into...

Re: Leader quality bonus

It took me a really long time and a lot of military building, but as Rome I'm finally getting leaders with a 2 rating somewhere. I actually had 3 generals with a 2 rating on one turn. 2-0, 0-2, and I think a 2-1. Since then I have been getting leaders with 2 in the rating a decent amount. I think I ...

Adminstrative Expenses....

I get the reasoning behind it. I really do. But on the 2nd level of difficulty, I don't see why it is necessary to take over 50% of my income and leave me at minus (200) gold per turn, give or take. The game is unbeatable if I'm not making any money and am losing this much every turn. How do I reduc...

Re: Leader quality bonus

meant to add, don't forget that the ratio of military buildings has an effect too. So if you are below 1, it'll reduce the average quality, get above 4 and you get another improvement in the chance to get better leaders What does that mean "ratio of military buildings". Ratio to what? The...

Questions about battles NOT imported to FoG2...

The battles not being imported to Field of Glory 2. OK, so, two situations - 1. I have a pretty good sized army, about 30 units and I'm fighting in small frontage region. For some reason my units don't fill out the frontage which gives the opponent an extra shot for free at the edges. I have units i...

Re: Legacy Points from Wonders

Yeah, I've been thinking on my long term strategy and I have decided that in the long run what Macedonia doesn't have and I have is always going to be good for me. So my long term strategy is to go to war with Macedonia and take from them everything they have to give.

Does anyone have a list of Wonders? I am unsure why I can never build them? I wish I could as Macedonia is getting 15 points from them per turn and I'm getting 1. I'm betting that is the Roman Senate or something.

Re: Empires Tip #2: Embrace the darkness!

A player pretty much has to build everything that gives loyalty. If not, then he will have really poor loyalty regardless of his decadence. I don't mean at the start, though. But as your regions get more populated, you need every single point of loyalty available.

After playing a Pike and Shot scenario of Civil War battles, I hope that there is a Civil War game with those types of tactical battles. And buying of weapons of different types. Kind of like Forge of Freedom, but better.

Re: Best game from you guys until now - congrats!

I'm going to have to give the game a big thumbs up because I have been playing on easy and my culture has gone to hell and I just realized that I'm too complacent about taking regions from people I beat. I need to play defensively and beat them in my regions so I don't take their regions from them. ...

Big Question: Unification events...

So. One of the things I liked about PoN (and Victoria 2, shhhh) is unification of Germany. CK2 - Form the HRE.

Is there anything like that in the game? Rome? Alexander's Empire? Some other I know nothing about, but still happened in real life?

Imperator Rome is a game I pick up years down the road for a very steep discounted price. FoG:Empires is the type of game I pick up as soon as it releases. I don't always do that with Ageod games! I did not buy the game on Spanish Civil War, English Civil War, And the one about the Wars of Successio...
