It is a little weird.

Set it to 0%, the automated replacements feature is useless as a player.

1 might be the range that the elements are currently fighting at. Don't take this for gospel though.

Don't recruit in individual units. Recruit in divisions, however you want them set up. Stay organised. Once you've ordered them change their tab name to xxx division so you know exactly what unit you want them assigned to. This saves tons of time and ensures that you have full strength divisions rea...

About chit replacements, there definitely is a random factor in whether or not they get consumed. Every time the chit would be consumed it makes a percentage roll to see if it is actually consumed (when replacing hits, not for replacing full elements.) As far as I remember it is only a 10% chance t...

Try it in game rather than just looking at whatever files you are looking at. 20lbers require heavy replacements as CSA. Whether this is WAD I don't know but it doesn't change the fact that they need heavy replacements.

On another note, has anyone else noticed that USA Athena doesn't seem to buy CMN artillery replacements. In two of my games as the CSA, I have loaded up the game as USA, and noticed that by 1863 their CMN Light-Art, Medium and Heavy are about 150 hits in the red with 0 chits bought. Is that WAD? Wh...

Why did you feel you needed to attack Montgomery? Your forces seem very spread out for an offensive in the area. You have a strong defensive position at the Selma, Kingston, Columbiana area. Use your interior lines to shift troops where needed. You have no scouts around Atlanta. Perhaps Federal forc...

I was playing as the CSA. I had three 20lbers at Richmond in passive posture sitting inside the city. One replacement chit topped them all up. YMMV but from what I can tell the feature is WAD.

I disagree. Putting your 20lbers, Columbiads, Rodmans etc in passive posture inside a structure with a depot will give them priority for replacements. My last game trying it out I didn't once have a problem with replacements going to fort batteries instead. That being said the devs could have put a ...

minipol, yes. 20lbers used in the game are famMedArty, "field artillery" or medium artillery. ArmChairGeneral had it right the first time. Sorry if my post was misleading. The way they are written on the back end is a little unusual, that's all. If you look in the units folder, this seems to be cas...

This is exactly why, in the past, I advocated for getting rid of many of these features. There are so many that have marginal impact on the game and don't even work. Unfortunately, there are also many that (could) have a big impact on the game, for example, the Hated Occupant special ability as allu...

While I suppose it would be nice not to have to build and move the requisite units I don't think CW2 updates are high on the devs list of things to do. If I were going to implement a change, just a RGD would suffice; why bother with the engineer? And get rid of some of those useless cards. Regarding...

Yes, a redoubt works for ZoC just like a fort. ... I did some digging. The main difference between forts and redoubts is that forts can be built in regions without cities. Redoubts come from RGD cards. Forts come from manual construction. Forts require 4 artillery and 4 supply elements to be built....

Just some minor diferences then. Many thanks. Blocking movement through a region is through the Patrol value of the defender compared to the evasion value of the moving stacks factored through the magic formula shabalabala (see the magic formula here Zone of Control :confused :) . In short, a fort a...

You can't build a fort...? Sorry I don't quite follow...? You need an RGD to construct a redoubt. A fort can be constructed with IIRC two artillery and four supply elements. I have never noticed a difference in their tactical effect. This is the conclusion I've been coming to. I can't really see a ...

While I don't necessarily agree with changing the economic model (it is simple and suits the purpose quite well imo) I agree 100% on the map issue. There are no messages. The rail line just fixes itself.

Rail lines automatically repairing?

Has anyone come across this?

I could have sworn I successfully cut a bunch of rails a few turns ago, and this turn many of them are repaired. Is there some sort of auto repair probability that has been put in?
