Matrix resolved my issue by issuing 2 new serial numbers 1 for AJE and 1 for Spartacus. Everything works fine now. Top-notch Customer support... :) Franciscus thanks again for leading the way through this issue. Yes, I also got two new keys for AJE and Spartacus from Slitherine's support email so I...
ArmChairGeneral's reply was the answer. I have a few ports blockaded that have only one exit point, but for others I'm only blockading one of two exit points. Never thought of hovering the mouse over the port itself to see if there are multiple exit points. Many thanks to ArmChairGeneral and Captain...
Hello, Playing as the Union in late 1861 and I have enough naval units in some Confederate coastal zones to perform the blockade s this message appears, but I don't see the actual harbor blockade icon showing up indicating that the harbor is blockaded. Tried to search for the info in this forum, but...
A medic unit only applies to the stack it's in and not the entire army if in an army stack. See post #2 here: http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?35445-Support-Units-in-the-Army-Leader-s-stack I also found the below Q&A in the original ACW forum so it appears to be the same with Civil War II: ...
Unfortunately since I bought the game from Impulse, I'll probably pass on it too since the discount doesn't apply for me. Disappointing as I was ready to pull the trigger today.

Thanks very much, Pocus. But I noticed that the link in the first post still points to the RC8 download and not the new RC9 download. I modified the download link to http://www.ageod-forum.com/downloads/latest/Patch_CW2_v1.05rc9.rar and the RC9 patch downloaded and installed. But the game is still s...
Sorry, just bought the game and was wondering what exactly is the role of both sailors and marines. I tried to search through the forum for the sailors' role in the game, but didn't find anything much. In the manual, the only thing I could find about using sailors is: "Create a naval landing force o...
Thanks to this thread, I think I'll be buying ACW2 too. I have ACW and didn't think it was really worth it to buy the new version, but you posters have convinced me. Thanks!
I'm thinking about buying and adding Parthian Wars and The Cantabrian Wars to AJE with the sale. If I install both, should I reinstall the latest AJE patch again which would be 1.04 RC?
I found this great website about the ersatz (substitutes) in World War 1 Germany: http://www.reenactor.net/ww1/morsels/fsc/home_front.html 'The rice "lamb" chop would satisfy even an exacting taste. Rice was boiled and formed into a lump resembling a chop. A skewer of wood was stuck into the lump to...
I still play Calvinus' game and I still enjoy it. With the 'new' WW1 CE on Steam, I might switch over to that one once the developers resolve the issues. But Calvinus' game will always have a place on my hard drive.
For the East Front I got a lot out of Norman Stone's Eastern Front 1914-1917. Covering such a broad topic it is necessarily lacking in campaign and battle detail but is an excellent overview, especially of the strategic issues and political problems of the major powers. He gives a really good look ...

An excellent book!
Also the pictorial book "World War 1" by H. P. Willmott contains quite a lot of interesting information about the war including the different armies, weapons and the home front.
I chose Price of Glory as that term really reminds me of Stanley Kubrick's "Paths of Glory".
I think the term suits the time period with many volunteers signing up in the early days of the way trying to seek adventure and glory before what they thought was going to be a quick war ended.
Here's my favorite books on World War One: "The Eastern Front 1914 - 1917" by Norman Stone - the definitive account of the war in the east with especially the details on the Russian military decisions. "A World Undone: The Story Of The Great War, 1914 To 1918" by G.J. Meyer - covers the entire war i...
