Re: Units receiving replacemnents for lost hits

Are they getting weaker by losing hits or only cohesion?
It might be because of the weather, I believe there are a variant in the rules where the weather is nastier and there is the possibility to be weakened by foul weather even if in supply and in a city.

Re: Friends Copy is Crashing.....

The usual advice is to install it anywhere but in a Program Files folder.
He can also post the log just after he crashed here.

As for monitors, I'm not too sure you can. Did you try the AGE Settings utility, and using windowed mode?

There are several tabs in the utility. That's not within the game itself though.

That's nice to see you keep PON alive. With the knowledge you gathered all ( I guess so, given you can do events and add features as special events), that would be nice if you proposed a kind of community patch to others players!

Re: Turn resolution problem

Going back to main menu and not just crashing rings vaguely a bell to me. Perhaps it comes from missing files or corrupted files.
I would suggest installing base EAW and see if it works, and then apply one patch after another, the older first.

The engine is CPU hungry ... the faster your CPU is, the better. Having 8 cores is of no help, the game runs on a single core (except PON which has a core for the map).

well, that's a decision that try to prevents too glaring exploits. Undercommanded stacks get -5% per missing CP. And so indeed smaller stacks get less. But on the other hand, smaller stacks can be engaged piecemeal and more easily destroyed. The aim is to have no cheesy solution to have units, witho...

Re: Replacing lost regiments in a division?

Formations follow a template, if you have lost sub-units within a unit, and if you have the proper replacements, then it will come back eventually in the formation, provided the unit is in supply.

That's weird. Are we talking of units not yet on the map? Because if so, a change in a mdl file should be reflected on new models created. I don't remember anything more for the older games, sorry.

Re: Does anyone know where diplomacy information is stored in the host file?

I'm not allowed to publish the entire code, that's still a property of Slitherine, but here are some excerpts, if it can help you figure more. I see there are two entities saved in the diplomacy code. One is a matrix, one is an object. // ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...

Re: Does anyone know where diplomacy information is stored in the host file?

I'm looking at the old code base, but can't run it on this computer. I see that a treaty item or matrix is defined by several tags, here they are. It might help you figure where things are const TagDIItem = '[TDII]'; TagDISingle = '[TDIS]'; TagDIParam = '[TDIP]'; TagDIFacUIDList = '[TDIFUL]'; TagTMI...

Re: Model Modding Issue

If there is no .cached file in either the units or models folder, then two things might happen, depending of the AGE engine generation. 1. It is not needed, and editing each file individually will result in a change in the game (if you edit the right file ;) ) 2. It is needed, and upon start up the ...

If you have no sound device, then yes the game will crash. That's an ill advised check deep down the engine, you can't play without a sound generating device, even if you mute the sound. If that's not the issue, install (or copy) the full game in an alternate drive, but not C: and not in Program Fil...

That's a pity because I'm rather sure that you can push the current engine to much more details. Plus you would get an up to date engine which run faster.
