Re: error message I need translated

This message says you have an access violation, which means the program was denied access to your computer. What you do to solve is pretty easy, just select 'Run as an administrator' from the right mouse button pull down menu. This will give the game access permission to run.

Re: French forces in Russia 1805 - glitch or is there a reason?

Yes, WON like PON is best if a player plays all major factions; whether multiplayer or solo, in part due to the very elegant diplomacy interface. I would be hard press to choose a favorite. I like the simplicity of WON and AJE with their deep historical grounding. But I also like the complexity of R...

Re: How do you organise things in AGEOD games?

Probably where you are in the game, yes one at a time. When you get to organize armies, then you can use the command for parallel march and move them all by moving the army.

Re: How do you organise things in AGEOD games?

This is a huge question. I will only be able to reply in part. It depends upon the game. In games with army/corps organization I determine the armies primary objective and needs. Then I designate an organization points, for instance in CWII, Alexandria VA, Cairo IL and Louisville KY with smaller gat...

Re: Cannot recruit troops or build ships as Pre-Meiji Japan (1860)

Hopefully, someone with more experience playing Japan can add their thoughts. I am currently playing as Spain and with the Carlist revolt I find that even some of my armies change to the rebel faction. So I am at a similar loss as with troops stationed there changing sides and loyalty complete outsi...

Re: Cannot recruit troops or build ships as Pre-Meiji Japan (1860)

This is a challenge. Japan is the most challenging of all the major factions to play for a number of reasons, but there are a few things you can do to enhance loyalty. 1. The most difficult is to win a war with a large enough war score to annex a region. There are several avenues to pursue to achiev...

Re: AI not activating and Folder Problem

My guess is that you are not running in administrative mode so the computer is not providing the game permission to access the game file.
If you are running in Admin Role, let us know.

And welcome to the forum.

Re: Text of the events disappeared

I think this is mostly a memory issue. If you go into options and allocate maximum memory to run the game; and, if you always run the game in administrative mode, you should not see this but the original message and photo.

Re: Grand Alliance basic strategy

Hi Bargus - I know you posted this series of questions some time ago; so though by far not an expert player of this game, I do have a few thoughts. This is a game about attrition. The number one goal is to keep your army alive and functioning. As in all AGEOD games the Objectives should guide you. S...

Re: A question about the AI

This game is really too complex to allow AI to run the major powers. For sure, Russia, Britain, France and Austria should be player run; however, this does not mean you cannot play the game without a human opponent. Those of us who came to wargames before computers played many games versus ourselves...

Re: Risorgimento - How to win as Austria

My experience with the DLCs has been a fun one, but as they are more historical than balanced, do not worry if you cannot win as the side which lost historically. My suggestion, try a different battle game. My favorite is the Spanish American War as this is the only treatment of that conflict I know...

Re: Technical problem with regional decisions

Sorry, by repost I meant if one of my suggestions did not make the game work again to submit a new message in this forum. This game is usually clean in how its events run. So if you are both running in administrative mode and in the same version, then the problem might be a bit more of an issue to t...

Re: Technical problem with regional decisions

Are you and your opponent in the same build with the same settings?
And, are you sending files either compressed, zip or rar, or via dropbox?

Any of the above could be the problem.
If yes to all of the above, please repost.
If no to any of the above, you will need to start a fresh game.

Ah ha, yes, thank you for sharing this piece. The American colonials were good at harboring resentments, but Churchill clearly recognizes how the past informs the present; without necessarily recognize his own short sightedness. I do believe I have read all his works, but "The Malakand Field Fo...

Re: History of the English Speaking Peoples

I thoroughly agree. I forget if he mentions how the New England colonials were very angry that after taking the Fortress on Louisburg the British leadership returned it to France in the peace treaty. This was such a key event in beginning what eventually becomes the American Revolution as Louisburg ...

Re: Help please

I should add, if for some reason you just do not want to do shared hosting, this sequence also works. 1. You create the game and send a copy of the trn file to your opponent (it is important to save the trn file in your folder) 2. You both make your moves 3. Your opponent returns the ord file. 4. Yo...

Re: Help please

Hey JackJack, You are doing it right for the newest game engine, but Rise of Prussia uses an older, and different, method of file exchange. It is easiest to do shared hosting, that is, each of you will run every other turn. So, 1. You start the game, make your first move, save. 2. Then send all file...

Yes.
You also gain point by creating the various new satellite states such as the Rhine Confederation and the Duchy of Warsaw, as well as holding the objective cities in these new states.

Hope you are enjoying. This is a fun and challenging game. There are two very different ways to think about peace treaties. The game has some 'automatic' treaties which reflect historical treaties; but players who gain a war score of a sufficient success can also impose or offer a treaty. You are as...

Probably you have not allocated in the options menu sufficient computer memory. So go to Options and find the place where you can add more computer resources to the game.

Hi escoutdril54 - sorry to be so delayed in response, perhaps you know the answer by now. Building mercenaries is not simple. Hi coblesmul47 and welcome to the forum. Your question presents a most interesting worst case scenario. But it also presents a 'best' case scenario for a field hospital rescue. To answer, you must first realize your hypothetical double amputee soldier would likely have died near the field hospital. ...

Did you try running with the Windows 7 emulator, that is, using the option to run in admin mode in an earlier version. This is what I do and it works mostly fine, a few graphical glitches is all.

Re: New to This Game, Not to The Engine

Similar enough you can begin play right away. The biggest difference for me was the change in command and control. You now have a supreme commander who creates army commanders. Two for Germany, one for all of the other major factions. Their proximity to active fronts are important to managing your a...
