I have seen this a few times by inadvertantly leaving a unit selected from another Corps, Division etc. I also Ctrl-Clk too quickly when there are alot of units in the same stack/region. Yep... At first blush, it seems kinda complicated, but, it appears, that once you figure out how you get troops and organize them, things start falling into place. I also have the same questions and comments. Am playing the July 1861 campaign as confederates and just got kicked around by the union at Winchester in blizzard conditions. Thought that I had good org there w/ Johnson's army and a corps under Jackson. Lost everything... a humbling experience.

Stoneage Also definitely interested...have been waiting for more AAR type info. AACW is much more complex than BOA ( in a very good way ) and the map is larger. Its been a steep learning curve for me w/o some tips, strategies, etc. to get started. Like you I am playing the Confederates after playing...

The AI simply don't like to suicide herself, even if Gettysburg is an objective. If you play as the CSA, 'she' will be more aggressive.
