Mmm... Well, I understand the need for diversified gameplay, but I really don't see it fit in the 18th century colonial North America theatre. The whole point of those 3 main wars the game covers is that the commanders had to do with the little they were given, and no more. Hence the real challenge ...

Here you go . Now you've seen it, you'll no longer have to chose ;) And one last thing, both When the Forest Ran Red and The War that made America are quite heavily focused on George Washington. It's not annoying though, as the documentaries are pretty honest with their treatment of the US national...

Carnium, You don't have to buy the entire collection of A People's History . It's sold in 3 dvds sets, each set covering more or less a distinct era. The first one has the early colonisation by the French, the Seven Years War, the American War of Independance and the War of 1812. So eventualy, you'l...

I uploaded a slightly updated version of the file. See my previous post. Also, Hok has acknowledged it, so hopefully if it is approved it should be in a future update.

I should probably have opened a new thread for that, but since it's related to the War of 1812 scenarii, I'll just hijack this one :niark: Playing the 1813 Great Lakes Campaign, as the British, against Athena, and with the game patched to 1.04c. I also have lodilefty's Community Mod installed, but a...

Ok, I'll just post it here, as well as a full copy of the intended PM. Which I'll still send so that Hok is aware of this. And this way everyone can have a say too :) Call me crazy, the French text files in LocalStrings_WIA_ver104.xls are done  Here is what I did: (All boxes where I changed s...

But wait, how do I attach a file to a PM? Can I do that? I'm trying to send you the revised DB to you and Hok :bonk:

Ok, will do.

Is there any other file in the DB that has ingame text in it?

EDIT: Should I highlight only the part I edited (ie. the letter or word I changed/added), or the full box?

Ok, merci.

Thank you guys, I appreciate :coeurs: I'll make a package with those skins for those who'd like to download them. Okayyyyyyyyyy.... thank you Pocus :p leure: Actually, as of now I "only" really need to add 4 models. Given the LOD of the units, I can manage something with the original blue cuffed unit, and the recoloured red, green and white cuffed I did. So, technically, what I need to do is (in WIA_DB_Models11...

How to add more unit graphics?

I am trying to add new unit graphics into WIA, in order to have more historically accurate uniforms as well as more variety (to be released if it works of course). Right now, I have made the necessary graphics for most of the different French regiments serving during the FIW. But I am having difficu...

New unit graphics

First, allow me to praise the developers of AGEOD who, from BoA onward, have managed to bring me into computer wargaming. And even wargaming at all. I like military history, I like grand strategy as well as battlefield tactics, and more than everything, the theatres covered by the 3 first games AGEO...

There it is. The unit appeared in April 1758 at Québec, as "reinforcements from the metropole". Both the Irish unit and the supply train were duplicated. In the saved game, one pair is left outside Québec, the other is merged with the city's garrison (I might have saved the turn after doing my movem...

You are most welcome :) While I'm at it, the Irish unit that appears through event I believe in Québec sometime during 1758 poped up duplicated, as well as the supply train unit that comes along. I let this one slip through though so I'll need to check if the saved game backup is still there. In the...

Mixed up Indian leader display

Hi, Playing the FIW grand campaign as the French, with WIA 1.04c. If forgot their respective names, please excuse my ignorance. When the leader of that "Cherokee party" appears in March 1759, the icon on the map doesn't show the same as that in the unit panel, which I believe is the correct one. Her...

Regarding the option to buy regular units

Hi, Having played BoA in its time, I now strongly enjoy WIA and all the improvements that came with it  I must admit, though, that I am having trouble understanding one of its features. Among the (great) choice of options the player get to "buy" with his/her victory points, some of them se...

I own both The War That Made America and When The Forest Ran Red . While both are pretty good, I'd suggest going for the former. They had a s***load of money to make it, being the one done for the 250th anniversary of the FIW in the US. Hence you get good visuals, real actors, and a fairly good rend...
