Instead, id rather see much bigger NM penalties for mobizations early in the war coupled with rising NM penalties for repeated use to simulate draft riots. These are more important issues. Would Athena be able to cope with a choice? Or would she end up making silly decisions? Or would it be possibl...

That may be the explanation then for both disappearances - NC and GA. I assumed Savannah was producing WS but I see it isn't. In the NC case, if a state is producing some but not enough WS, is the "purchase order" curtailed?

Oh, and Moriarty seems to have made off with three Coastal Arty also - the preceding turn, I also bought the three Coastal guns in GA. No show.

Seems that since 1.16 RC4a, RUS release led to a change (to reduce "gamey" raiding): So in short, this is WAD. That's great, actually - it will certainly limit the incentive for whacky raiding. The formula looks good, too - so, IIRC, Watie and his three Indian rgts have a typical strength of ~75 (+...

I feel the need to explain my "yea" ('cause I'm long-winded like that :D ). What I'd really like to see is a limitation by event, similar to the existing limits on corps and division formation, on when full and partial mobilization can be used. In my opinion (and I think among many other players, ju...

The Case of the Missing Parrotts: I buy four bttys in preceding turn, in current turn I get the usual "New Units raised" msg, indicating three of the four have been built in Robeson, NC - except when I click on Robeson, only one of the three is there. Have I missed something elementary, my dear Holm...

Armstrongs and Whitworths were indeed British-made rifled breech-loading guns (RBL), and neither were manufactured in the Americas. The problem at the moment is that we have two models which function as heavy field arty but which are named for pieces, Columbiads and Rodmans, which were emplaced fort...

If there were such a list, I'd certainly think the "Columbiads" and "Rodmans" (whatever they actually are - is there any reason not to rename these models "Whitworths" or "Armstrongs"?) would rank high on it. But all artillerymen are expected and required, in the last resort, to attempt to destroy t...

Like maybe for AI only? Yes - the AI is likely not to be able to perform the complicated dance necessary to build arty elsewhere and move it to AR, so for the AI such a change seems like a good idea, since it'll mean a more challenging game for the Union player. I'd be against increasing WSU in the...

Aren't Columbiads and Rodmans BFF (Big Fat Fellas)??? Experts to the fore, should we raise capture % on these BFF's?? I'd be happy to see it raised - it's not entirely clear what these types represent (not real Columbiads, apparently) but whatever they are, they are big and should certainly not be ...

Three issues: 1) Raider/bushwhacker/indians apparently unable to destroy RRs and depots - see, in LateJan62 save, Watie & Co. at Jefferson City and in Fall62 save, Raider unit in Md and Shenandoah valley for several turns in Sept & Oct, trying futilely to blow rails and depots. In both instances, un...

CSA Division limit changes?

Playing vs AI under 1.16 rc5, the mouseover text for the Enable Division command is telling me I have more divisions created than I actually do - I think it said I had 9 on-map when divisions were first enabled in Oct 61 (?), when of course I had 0. At present, I have maybe 10 on-map and it's saying...

Why is Polk decimated?

I thought I understood supply but I'm stumped - is this a bug? In the attached turn I load Polk, two bdes, one arty and supply onto a force of gunboats and transports in Memphis, bound for Columbus, KY. The force is at full supply when embarked, no enemy action AFAIK, and yet as of the next turn all...

AI: fixing "leader misuse"?

In this thread , several of us have been discussing common problems with the AI, and the one that seems to come up most is "leader misuse": the AI's habit of assigning leaders (especially the top brass, including Washington) to very small or inconsequential stacks. Usually in my experience this happ...

And last but not least of a spate of posts in this thread (I begin to feel a bit like Cato the Elder finishing every speech with "Carthago delenda est") - 1. fortress artillery still needs a second look, as mentioned above. 2. discrepancies in minor power replacements either need a rationale or a fix.
