Soulblazer, Check the older threads as they have lots of information how to start the campaign. In fact all the newcomers should do just that first. If you play the 1775-83 Grand Campaign (my fav) you'll need to agressive with the rebels. Think and plan. Assign leaders, regiments and supply to diffe...

For the 2nd point, I would like to get the save. Its abnormal. Sorry, it happened during my test games and I deleted the files as I was a bit unhappy about the AI. It was a "battle" in Crown Point were my Mountain Boys (+ Col. Warner) were scouting for Burgoyne's army. The Brit/Brunswicker army (wi...

I played 2 test games with the latest patch installed: one with the Americans and one with the Brits. As I was testing I played with the easiest settings and I was soundly beaten. The absolutely 1st friggin' time this has ever happened to me!!! :) That AI pretty much managed to perform a "strategic ...

The empty battle report seems to back with the latest patch. Also I've lost some whole regiments as destroyed after a battle even if the battle report hasn't shown it.

Some 1.07.e notices...

I noticed these little annoyances while playing test games with the 1.07e patch installed: The company NATO symbols move around in the regiment/ship box in the right lower corner ie they shift places. There's a small problem with North Carolina militia regiments as I've received these: 1. 1st North ...

I just noticed that the AI moves fast (with wagons) and uses a strategy which I've never seen in this game before, conquers my outlying forts very quickly without arty and siege experts while my sieges take a looong time. Now all this happens in the West and Canada instead where the real danger is, ...

Oh, he's THAT Villeneuve? My oh my, the infamy :)

A new leader for the French? Great! I suspect that the coureur des bois units were named after their commanders, right?

The leaders' unit card has one picture and his leader detail box has another one, a different one. A minor annoyance.

"Well I do think that players should be able to survive without help from the computer unless you play on the easier levels." I don't know where did you get this one. I only mentioned that there are "events" which inform the player about certain inventions and such but they rarely affect the gamepla...

The main problem with the Imperialism games and their diplomacy was that only the "Great Powers" were active. The others were just pawns to be exploited. When a war erupted between 2 Big Boys, the rest of the active countries usually allied quickly with one of the warring nations and gangbanged the ...

Ok, now I understand what Adam the 6th is talking about. I've started a 75 GC as the Brits and it's summer of 78 now. The rebs have now a very large number of troops and even the French have arrived. I've managed my campaign pretty good so far as I hold almost the whole of New England, Georgia, SC, ...

Questions about Leaders...

First thanks for the new patches...the training traits now work wonderfully. I understand that Gen. Clinton the elder was removed from the game but are there other leaders that were removed? So far I haven't seen Lord Loudon and Villeneuve in the FIW scenarios. Also the British leader Stanwix still ...

I usually split the Army of Burgoyne into 2 parts: The Brits with the slow moving buggers move onboard riverboats to Fort Oswego and from there towards Fort Stanwix. Sometimes I get lucky with them but sometimes their low speed (and low strat rating) really hurts. The 2nd part is composed of the Bru...

Yeah, I have both of them and played for a while but never really finished a campaign. The diplomacy sucks as there are only a small amount of playable factions. So the field is somewhat limited.

I dropped the II 'cause I couldn't get the patch to install at all.

I kind of agree with Robin here. The gameplay is really fantastic but the unhistorical units are stupid. There are lots of events in the game but they don't do anything for the player for the most part (unless it's a trigger for the dreaded plague). I really hope that they (CA) aim to perfect their ...

Total War fans?

I have all the titles except the Viking Invasion for the Medieval TW.

There are rumours that another expansion is on the works for Rome TW and of course Medieval II is coming along also.

I'm a huge fan of this series. Anyone else?

Heh!...this happened to me also. I started a new Brit 75 Grand Campaign and wondered why it was so easy.

The yanks ran out of troops.

Now with the latest patch I started a new rebel campaign and saw the declaration of independence for the first time ever.

There are now an odd amount of numeral ratings in the unit detail box. Have you dropped the protection trait?

Or is this an oversight?

I read the article and it didn't change my opinion on the matter. The main problem with adding Franklin is that it changes the scenario/campaign balance totally. If there really should be a fellow called Franklin then he would have to appear after 1759 or so. The lack of good British/American leader...

Thanks for the link Brett as it was interesting reading...but that doesn't warrant adding Franklin into the leader pool. What he performed in the FIW was mostly administrative tasks and not front line duty atleast in such a scope that would allow him to be leader of an army. Besides those special sk...

The FIW grand campaign is messed up a bit. There are some leaders that are AWOL: Lord Loudon, Amherst and Villeneuve; some have the wrong leader data: Stanwix; some have mixed CPs and ranks/stars: Braddock, Forbes etc. and yesterday the French admiral Ternay's twin brother appeared at Louisbourg!! :)

I think the French could use some additional leaders, more than the English. I think they are releasing the older game with this engine of theirs as free. The new game featuring Revolution and Austro-Hungarian battles has a price. Yes, the graphics are below par IMO. Are the any JA freaks here? I have the Deadly Games & JA II. Esp. II is solid gold or like a diamond. I haven't tried the expansions but I would like to know if they are just some kind of warm ups or do they really add to the fun? Also, does anybody know anything about the future developments of JA?...
