As an addition I think units starting a turn in an inactive stack should only be able to transfer to an active leader stack if that leader is of higher rank. Otherwise they should only be able to transfer to leaderless stacks for the next turn. Any leader joining an inactive stack would immediately ...

1.06 Tooltip delay

This is a great new feature and makes the screen far less busy on setting 2.
There seems to be a minor problem when scrolling - after the delay period all
tooltips are displayed as pre 1.06 while the cursor is against the scrolling edge (East or West)

Great improvement though!
Thanks
Chris

Leader Activation

This seems like it could use a little tweaking to me. I have a stack of 3 leaders and 4 units with an aggressive posture. The main leader becomes inactive but I am able to take him out of the stack to continue the aggressive posture using his subordinate leaders. Removing leaders from stacks for thi...

My max is 1024 x 768 so I suppose that's one of the reasons I find it gets in the way.

Very interesting note Dinsdale. I was also wondering about point 8. Is there enough attrition to supplied units in wilderness terrain in fair weather? For instance Robert Rogers lost 20% of his force to accident and illness in the first three days of his trek out to St Francis just a few miles from ...

Opinion on cursor info popups?

Hi folks, just getting into my first campaign and I think this will be one of the top 5 games I have played in past 20 years - but.... I have a hard time with games that look so 'busy' around the cursor. Everywhere you move it the regions change colour and unit info is displayed right next to the cu...

It would also be nice to see portage as a possibility as it seems to be an important tactic of the time. The Indians called the portage between the Hudson and lake George the "Great carrying place" the portage between lake George and southern Champlain the "Small carrying place". Thus the importance...

That's great as I have somehow missed any reference to Lake Flotillas.

It seems that lake George is not navigatable though which is a shame as so much action was centered around this area. It would nice to see this lake
join to southern Champlain as the portage was not far.

Cheers, Chris

Can we have Schooners, Sloops and Brigantines as well :niark: Despite having lost the forts to the south, the French were still a formidable threat to Amherst's plan. Still in possession of a naval force of some size, the French could make things very difficult as Amherst drove towards the north wit...

Radeau

In the book I am currently reading the British forces construct several radeau or rafts carrying artillery to move small distances up river to take part in the siege of forts Carillon and St Frederic. It would be a nice improvement to add this ability to the game; maybe converting an artillery unit ...

This is still unclear to me. If you wish to be in an offensive posture is there any reason not to also be in ambush? If so why isn't this automatic?

And do ambushing units get any terrain benefits? I assume they would be
coming out of higher ground/wooden terrain etc

So I may be better off starting a siege without a leader than having an inactive leader?

"2) and 3) only work if the stack leader is activated" For 2) Does this mean that if a siege is underway and the leader becomes non-activated that the siege will end? Seems a little odd if that is the case. A siege could get underway, stop, get underway and stop again which would not seem very reali...

Scroll Speed

I just added :-

ScrollAmount = 50
ScrollDelay = 0
ScrollIncrease = 1

and for me these settings are perfect! Many thanks for adding the ability to change these - it makes a great difference to my enjoyment of the game.

Scroll Speed

Hi, I notice that the map scrolling improves once I have been scrolling around for a minute or so - it then loads the bitmaps into memory I think? Is it not possible to add an option to allow the program to load these bitmaps into memory before the game starts to save me having to scroll around befo...
