Sorry, Spharv2: "Southern" does not count as an "international language". . You sure Havely, I am from the South and have a hard time understanding some folks from around here. I was once in Mississippi, and had to have a guy translate for me. The guy that had to be translated, was born in Mississi...

This is always a pleasure to know that. Even if the AI is mediocre compared to a veteran player, knowing that the thousands of hours put into it (since the debut of the AGE engine, not just for ACW) is always good to know. Pocus, I wouldn't say it is mediocre. Maybe, yeah versus a human it is. But ...

Doomwalker, I completely agree, unfortunately my wife does not take as much of an interest in wargames as I do. :( :( I'm lucky I can play 2 nights a week. Hope she never sees this post, or else :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: Mine doesn't care if I play. Your welcome.

If I remember correctly; it will move to the battle area, if one occurs. :D

If you make non-historical decisions the game model should simulate what these non-historical decisions would have had. I would like this also, but I don't know how much or to what end. I also wonder if this wouldn't lead to serious game play issues. I myself would like the choice of cotton embargo...

Hey guys,

I believe what you are getting is the move tracking. Go to the Options menu, the Media tab, and then set the Focus on Move option to Don't Focus(First box on left). ;)

edit> There's another aspect to this that sandbox players fail to realize. AGEod probably relies on more than 75% of it's database development for all their games from dedicated historical buffs. They attract such help by keeping their games as historically based as possible. Without the emphasis o...

No, and it doesn't, I'm afraid. Elements (regiments) don't get combined. Units that have room in their TO&E's can merge in other units to fill in the empty element slots, but this doesn't have on the element level. Thanks for the clarification Rafiki. I started a new game last night trying to see t...

This makes me wonder why they didn't consolidate regiments back then. For instance, looking at the Confederate OOB for Gettysburg. You can see how easily they could have turned brigades into "full strength" regiments. I would think that this would have relieved admin and supply needs, but maybe not....

Low numbers are normal for the periods of the war they were in. And even at Manassas, where most of the larger numbers are, you have to figure stragglers and illness had knocked out a good chunk of a lot of those regiments. The 950 is easy to spot because of the H.A. That was one of the Washington ...

I must tip my hat to the creators of AACW. I don’t think I have ever put so much effort into trying to learn and master a game ever in my life. I have read the manual from cover to cover. Prince,

I have used them from the North, combined with my armies already on the field, and as amphibious landings. It is pretty much up to you what you want to do with them. Most of the time the war is pretty much won by this time. Just think of them as the icing on the cake. :w00t:
