We need to be a bit careful. ..and remember that AACW was released in 2007! Since you overwrite the two existing files, what is the effect on people with the somewhat lower resolutions already using those files? (I confess ignorance of things graphic. My laptop is slightly dated, maxed out at 1200x...

Franciscus,

OK, I goofed. Try these two instead. Same placements as other files.

Hey Franciscus, I believe the file is hardcoded to a max of 2047. I am not too sure on that though. Hopefully Pocus will see this and give a definitive response. I know the sizes are at there max limits in the file I posted. The only thing I can think of to help you out at this time, would be to mod...

For even higher resolutions.

Sorry about resurrecting a long dead thread, but I was having the same issues with my new laptop and AACW. I have attached the updated file, which will support up to 1920x1080 resolution. Just in case anyone else is having this issue. Go to AGEod's American Civil War/ACW/FrontEnd folder, and copy ov...

Count me in Lodilefty. I am in Afghanistan currently, and find myself with more than enough time on my hands, and no way to reliably do any PBEM. So I can test to your hearts content.

That is a great park. I took my wife down there, and she was hooked. I had to schedule trips to the USS North Carolina and Norfolk after that trip. She about flipped out when we went to see the carriers in Norfolk. The Nauticus museum is also outstanding. I just wished you could tour the USS Wiscons...

Hey Lovejoy, I am pretty sure you are right about playing both sides. Most units do have two separate units that they portray. This way when everyone shows up for the reenactment they are not all Union or all Confederate, which would make for a very boring show for the crowd. As far as his flags, no...

Naming PBEM games

Is there a limitation to the name you can assign a PBEM game? Currently, I am trying to save the first turn of a PBEM, and it says the operating system is limiting me from saving the file.

I need to know if a division going by train (so one day trip) will reach a neighbouring region where there is a enemy cavalery before it destroyed the railroad. Andatiep, I do believe the division will be able to catch the cavalry before it destroys your rail line. Don't quote me on this though. ;)...

Naming

Gentlemen and our Queen,

Is there a standard naming convention for PBEM files? Or more appropriately, what would be a good pattern for naming?

I will say Shiloh. The length seems good for a "elimination" round. Also, having played the first three, from both sides. I would say that Shiloh is pretty balanced, as far as possibilities of winning from either side.

I myself tend to land the BEF in New England. :D I haven't tried the CSA landing. I may attempt this the next go around though. I am always up for new strategies.

Are you using them as parts of a larger CSA army, or a new army to augment your present forces?
