3 Questions

1. Where & when can the counter-intelligence be used? I've never actually seen a situation where this option can be applied. Is that a bug? 2. Cavalry screens - do I use it to screen my movement to the region I moving to, or the area I am moving from? 3. Mescaleros - What is the affect of this o...

Re: Suggestions Box

More realistic march times between one region & another. They strike me as being completely out of whack.

Out of interest, does the casualty number represent killed & wounded, or just KIA?

Re: Suggestions Box

I like all of these suggestions, particularly the one regarding the ability to promote any general I want. I've always found it frustrating that a large number of generals cannot be promoted regardless of how much success they have on the battlefield.

Re: Suggestions Box

I'd like an option that allows me to designate a brigade, division or corps as a strategic reserve only to be committed to battle to either strengthen a defensive line or exploit a breakthrough in an attack. While the game already seems to have a system in place that is something like that, I'm all ...

Would not 7 & 8 day turns be necessary to keep it all within the 30 day per month framework? Also, actual calendar dates would be better than just Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc, etc.

I was referring to both future patches of this current game and a hypothetical ACW3. Throwing ideas around can surely do no harm ;)

Suggestions Box

Basically, I'd like this thread to become a 'suggestions central', if you will, where all & sundry are free to suggest whatever it is they feel may improve this already superb game. For me, some things I'd like to see in future versions are: - A greater selection of generals, and the option to p...

Re: Barksdale's Brigade

Thanks for the input lads, but unless I've missed something I don't think that my original question has really been answered. So, again, is Barksdale's Brigade a part of this game or no? I've yet to see it anywhere.

I hope your portraits will be included into the next patch.... I second this wholeheartedly. While the current generic portraits are well detailed & certainly better than nothing, not having a portrait of the actual general leaves the game feeling just a little incomplete. I hope that's rectifi...

Portraits of CSA generals

Are there any plans to upgrade the portraits of CSA generals like Thompson, Shelby, Trimble, Anderson, etc, in future versions of the game?

Re: Promotions

Then the first leaders the CS player would promote would be Longstreet and Jackson http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu305/Der_Ami_At_Bucket/Smileys/annoyed.gif If you want to get McCulloch promoted, use him successfully and let him earn it. I personally wouldn't promote Jackson or Longstreet if I...

Yet another question.

What do the symbols on the battle result screen actually mean? I see a heart symbol with a number beside, and in brackets, a plus or minus symbol & another number. What's the go there? Then I see some kind of 'noughts & crosses' symbol, followed by a number and then another number in bracket...

Re: Promotions

Allowing the player to arbitrarily choose a leader to promote, would however break the paradigm of the game, and be too easily misused. Maybe if it was restricted to brigadier generals who require a certain seniority then it might just work and prevent the misuse of which you speak? For example, so...

Re: Promotions

The leaders who are ineligible for promotion, are not ineligible because of their seniority, but because of their mediocrity. Generally, because historically they never attained a higher rank. I can't say that I agree with this. While it may be indeed be true that the majority of them are perfectly...

Re: Promotions

I'm seeing a lot of generals who, I'm assuming, will never be promoted beyond the rank of brigadier general. I think that's a little crazy. I don't think it makes much sense to have a less senior general stand no chance of promotion despite winning a number of impressive victories. I like that the p...

Where does it tell me if a general is promotable or not? I've read that it's on their information panel, but I don't see it anywhere.
