Re: Noticed many leaders cant be promoted?

Every general should be promotable. Absolutely. Perhaps the parameters of promotion should be different for certain generals but they should all be promotable nonetheless. It is, after all, just a game ;)

Re: Interested in a Civil War II Gold version?

More 'special' units availability. Should be practically no limit on Engineers, HQ Support, Signal Co., Hospital, Pontooner/Pioneers, and Sharpshooters. If you can afford to build them, you should be able to build them. Requires only adding names and build-pool numbers. This would be an excellent a...

I really don't think that's the case.

Marching to the sound of guns.

Is this is possibly the most deeply flawed aspect of this game? It would be all well and fine if an army and associated corps are within the same region, or if a battle stretches into a second or third or fourth day (which is extremely rare, it must be said) and corps in adjacent or nearby regions c...

Re: Civil War III

If there is a Civil War 3 then things I'd like to see, in no particular order are: - No more mixed brigades. - A far greater selection of generals, (basically anyone who was crowned a brigadier general during the war should be included) and the ability to promote any one of them if they'd performed ...

By gone missing you mean just the portrait right? Let me know if you see anything else missing. I already figured out why his portrait disappeared, I'll let Phil know. FYI the model file in the patch just has an extra space for on the portrait line. Thank you! Yeah mate, just the portrait. Otherwis...

Re: Question about brigades

Am I right in saying that in the 1861 full theatre campaign, Mississippi, for example, only has 4 brigades (Baldwin's, Featherston's, TM. Jones', and Statham's) available for the entire duration of the war?

What I think you're looking for will be on the opening menu once your game has loaded, under 'New', 4 of 9, 1861: The Civil War (April - Full 2 Theater Campaign).

Re: Question about brigades

Thanks for the answer!

I'm curious as to why Barksdale's brigade isn't included on the Mississippi roster. I think I read on here a few months back that it (only?) becomes available if Richmond is pretty much surrounded, and if that is the case, it really shouldn't be.

Question about brigades

Basically, what I'm wanting to know is once I've recruited and placed upon the field all the brigades from a particular state that are available to me in 1861, do more brigades appear later? For example; I've 4 South Carolina brigades on the map - Anderson's, Ripley's, Drayton's & Kershaw's - do...

The first thing I would do is uninstall the game, then delete the folder with any file that may remain. Restart the computer, install and patch the game. Cheers. Did a uninstall/reinstall and it's working now, but I'm using the 1.6.3 patch, which I'm not sure I really like yet. Does anyone know whe...

So Windows 10 tells me my computer needs updates, etc, and after ignoring that for a few months I figure what possible harm could it do and decide about 2 weeks ago to do the updates. Big mistake. Start the CW2 program. From the main screen, click the "LOAD" option. Click once on the game you want, but don't start it. At the top right-hand corner an icon will appear that looks sort of like a micro-circuit. Click this and you get three more icons. The one in the middle allows you to...

Re: Army Structure, Generals within Brigades of Divisions?

Curious Question, I seem to have some spare generals left over, but not enough to make whole divisions for them yet, so perhaps I thought I can make them command brigades? Is that really viable? Meaning have multiple Generals commanding just brigades within a Division? Or is that simply not feasibl...
