sorry, i started this thread before checking for previous reviews and it appears this is a sensitive topic out there. i feel its too bad that several people made such harsh reviews. however i know ageod has been really good at supporting their games so i am sure this one will be a "beauty" soon eno...

CTD in August 1914 combat

August 1914 turn playing the CP with Plan Rupprecht in the West. Italy has joined CP. A lot of battles occurring - at least a dozen (several more with interceptions, counterattacks, and breakthroughs) across all fronts. Just can't get through the combat phase. At some point (not the same one each ti...

Install creates copy

I've mentioned this in relation to a post by 06 Maestro on the Help Improve WW1 board, but after following his advice I'm no further advanced so I'm bringing the problem here. When I first installed the game I specified a different installation path to the default. The game seemed to install alright...

Thank you, Maestro. I think I'm having a very similar problem. On installation I found that I wasn't getting the intro display so I uninstalled and reinstalled. I specified a new installation path and it now seems that the game installed both in my Programs folder and in the newly specified path. No...

Just dropping in on Jabberwock's explanation of ACW artillery types. Rodman guns were originally so called because they were cast using a process he developed for cooling the tube from the inside out. This produced a weapon much less prone to bursting than those constructed by the conventional "outs...

Nice work on the updates in Alabama. I do wish that the Selma connection could be built in game. I agree. I guess it's the developer's continuing dilemma - every improvement made creates the demand for something more. In this case, Gray's epic rework of the railways has vastly improved the historic...

Fortunately I can edit it to something approximating reality. I don't think we should lose sight of this. I happen to agree with your estimation of Johnston, Wolf, but through his hard work Runyan has given us a greatly enhanced leader list that we can readily modify to our tastes. I reckon that me...

Thank you so much, Gray! This remedies what to me was the greatest flaw in the game. Heaven (and perhaps your significant other) alone knows how much time you must have spent putting it together.

Just a note of thanks for all the work being put in on this project. In many instances the historical data is really tough to get hold of, so I really appreciate the effort you're investing in tidying up this critical aspect of the game.

I think this - Pocus or some other of the AGEod pantheon needs to say, "STOP," then give us a patch that includes everything official up to this point so that we can all get to the same COMFORTABLE point with the game. Then, the "official" path and the "modding" path need to go down their separate ...

Ohhhh. I get it. You don't want it their way. You want it your way. I don't think that really does justice to the complaint, LS. I figure he wants it as close to the original as possible - because that's what he bought into. I share the sentiment to some degree. If you come from a boardgaming backg...

I guess some kind of apologies would be welcome here. Korrigan Your absolutely right. And I do apologise absolutely. In my defence, such of it as there is, I will say that my post wasn't a rant and that I didn't assume that the AGEOD team was trying to screw me. That's why I asked for clarification...

Pricing policy

I've just received an email from Nobilis informing me of a new arrangement with AGEOD and telling me that I can purchase the download version of AGEOD's American Civil War for 14.99 Euros. And the 1.07 version at that! Since I paid 33.00 Euros for the 1.02 version six weeks ago I'd really appreciate...

Permanent Links

Hi and apologies for seeking what is probably an obvious answer. I'm having real trouble. Not with the game - I'm still just gently probing that - but with navigating the site. For instance, in the post announcing the 1.03 public beta, reference is made to the 'permanent links library'. I can't find...
