I hope it also includes lots of the early campaigns, before the "Grande Armee". The greatest thing would be a Revolutionary France scenario before Napoleon IMHO buuut.. considering the games name... :bonk:

I think the Italian campaign would work great for an AGEOD game, though!

Steam isn't necessarily DRM, it can just be a distribution platform. See for example Paradox games which have no DRM (I think the same with AGEOD games on Steam right now), you can download the game from Steam and then just copy that folder elsewhere and play without Steam.

In many cases I found the best help for complicated system was coming from the game's wiki. The hyperlink system gives you the possibility to stay on the surface of things or to go deeper. It's a choice that really makes the difference and present informations in a less monolithic way. 100 % agreed...

I hope the devs are reading this thread, it would be great if these minor war plan bugs could be fixed at some point...
another one just came up: Moltke is "forced into retirement for failure to capture Paris" in December 1914, even if the war plan you chose is not focused on taking Paris.

The thing a lot of people miss today when discussing alternate histories is that the Great War was an inevitability. It wasn't a question of if but when. That was a huge factor in Germany's military deciding to fight in 1914, knowing that there would be a war eventually and that by 1918 or so Imper...

The way I like to do it is to create a Dropbox for the game and then the last player to upload his orders runs the turn. Of course, this requires everyone to have the exact same settings.

This minimizes the downtime.

Frankly, I know nothing about the size of cavalry divisions in WW1, so I just assumed they were tiny compared to infantry divisions, even if it seemed kind of weird. If the numbers are wrong though, it would indeed be good if they could be corrected. Even if - just to emphasize that - it has absolut...

Thanks guys, that's what we figured out also 400/500 per hit. It's a big difference ohms_law, I once took 82 hits on a retreat, there is a significant difference between loosing 8200, 41000 or 82000 men on a retreat. Not for the game engine, because no matter what hits represent you always lose the...

Another minor quirk: the Austro-Hungarian defensive war plan that replaces Conrad with Eugen doesn't remove Eugen from the generals pool.
So you can have the two Eugen von Österreich twins fighting side by side ;)

Maybe Conrad should also be in the generals pool when Eugen replaces him?

I am mostly talking about generals experience here, not units. As far as I can tell, the effect of experience on units is usually negligible because, as you say, it is divided between the elements and also because single elements are rather brittle.

Generals experience gain

I think the experience gain formula for generals (and units, I guess, although that would have a far smaller effect) should be reworked to make the loser gain more than right now. It seems, unless I interpret the game completely wrong, that experience gain is proportional to success in battle. I.e. ...

AFAIK the plans are supposed to always go perfectly, i.e. 100 % activation rate for all commanders inside the area of the plan.

And Kronprinz plan is "in Germany".

Alsace-Lorraine not part of Germany?

The Kronprinz plan says that during August "any German leaders in Germany will automatically be active". This seems to not be the case for Alsace-Lorraine, which is VERY counterproductive for a good defense there. I can't imagine this to be intentional? I mean, whatever your personal opinion, Alsace...

I was, and still am, disappointed to find out that TEAW is using the same National Morale as any other AGEOD game. Would it be possible to allow some countries to join other countries GHQ? For example, it is a terrible idea - from a gameplay standpoint - to leave the BEF in France under British command! If you place it under FRENCH command instead, it gets the French GHQ bonuses and a large command points benefit.

Now that I am thinking about it, Mühlhausen gives 20 National Morale with French historical war plan though, doesn't it? So it seems to me taking Mühlhausen at all cost is actually a great idea because 20 more NM gives you better cohesion for your troops. And the objective goes away after August 191...
