Just started my first game of TEAW, obviously immediately into the Grand Campaign with war plan selection! Thought I'd start with Russia so I could make some huge mistakes and still survive (after all, that's what they did historically, right?) - Austria-Hungary chooses to focus on Russia, dealing w...

Anyone wanting to share his experience with the Ottomans? How did your Eastern and Caucasus campaigns develop? Can a Gallipoli happen and is it a sensible choice for the Allies?

Oh I agree that historiricity is better in such cases! I was just wondering how the troops are locked in game, engine wise. Because as I said, gor example in RUS you could theoretically move the Don Cossacks to Siberia.. they just fought terribly there :bonk: That is why I thought the engine doesnt ...

Are they physically blocked or just get the "outside of supported area" malus like in AJE or RUS? Doesnt really matter, I would just find it amusing if you could get some Japanese to Verdun... Just because!

O.k. I can update you on this game now, as I purchased it yesterday :bonk: My recommendation is: don't buy it - it's not working. The first impression was very positive - the first turns worked impressively fast, but then the whole thing slowed down to nothing. Freezes, freezes, freezes. If you alr...

I hope this is not going too far into the intricacies of the combat system, but do you know if these values get rounded or anything?

Say a unit has an offensive fire value of 3 and the stack leader is a 2-2-2 so gives a 20 % bonus (or 10 %?), will it stay a 3 because it's rounded down again?

Well, outnumbered is a strong word, I think you can say that manpower-wise they are more or less equal, 2.000 men more or less shouldn't make a difference like that with 40.000 on each side. In general, I don't know much about this war, but weren't casualties for battles usually rather equal? But an...

I don't know enough about the battle system to really assess the situation. I can only say that I don't think this is a result that should happen. The losses are way, way, way too high for ONE SINGLE DAY of fighting. However, I have no clue as to what you can do to make it better, so I'm not saying ...

The Republican side is definitely a lot more difficult to play, especially because their forces are so much worse. Let me show you one example, a really extreme one. In that game (I was Nationalist) I had brought EVERYTHING to Madrid. 40.000 men, led by Franco. The Republicans had 40.000 entrenched ...

I am pretty sure you can make that move. You need to hold CTRL down before dropping the army on the target province. Then that army will choose the direct path, not the one that takes the shortest time. But I think it takes ages to move from mountain to mountain.

No, not an actual line line, I worded that a bit badly. Just detaching your supply wagons and moving them back and forth. Here's how supply works: an army can draw supply from the province it is in and all the provinces surrounding it. So if you besiege Messana as Carthage you will get supplies from...

It can be you just have very bad luck. There's a chance every turn that new garrisons will spawn inside a besieged city, even if it is blockaded and besieged. These newly spawned garrisons have full supply. It's weird, it makes no sense and it can make sieges VERY VERY VERY frustrating especially wh...

It's clearly time to step away from the Romans, and start moving towards greener pastures. So, if I read the description of the 2nd Punic War correctly The Second Punic War(219-201 BC) is a major campaign that started even before the clash between Rome and Carthage; when Roman legions fight in the Second Illyrian War, and Carthage finishes its conquest of Hispania In the scenario the Cart...

You are not wrong, but it is enough to have one 1-star Italian leader in a stack to get rid of the penalty.
E.g. what I did was to creatr Italian divisions, which require Italian commanders, and then they are commanded by Spanish commanders, usually mixed with Spanish divisions.
