I actually got curious myself and I found this in the Steam Greenlight notes : If my game is accepted through Steam Greenlight, can I give my previous customers keys for the Steam version? Once your game is accepted for distribution on Steam, we will give you as many keys for your game as you want a...

Nope, Steam won't receive any money specifically from you registering your key.

I don't know how the deals with Valve are exactly, but one thing is for certain: individual key registrations are not part of it :)

Sorry, AFAIK , this is to be said that there will be no officialy Gold version. But a Davaï official version is to be expected. :neener: I don't care what it's called. As long as it contains what would have been the planned "Gold version", it can be called whatever it wants to be called

Whew! I haven't played THAT one but I did once play 'Drang Nach Osten', another absolutely massive monster that took about a day to set up and ages to make your turns. My friend and I played it solidly over a Bank Holiday weekend back in the early '80s. Fortunately, my friend let me play the German...

Anyone here played Offensive a Outrance? http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic1878177_t.jpg Just spent my day... yep, the entire day setting this up. Portrays the 1914 campaign in the West at divisional level with some smaller independent units thrown in. It has a very interesting feature where eve...

To End All Wars is the game that I am a lot more interested about, that is for sure. As someone from Europe The Great War has always had a lot of fascination to me. That said, you do notice that Civil War 2 has been out for over a year already now. The game has been improved a lot by all the patches...

What can I tell you, bob? The game starts ALWAYS with Germany-Austria at war with France and Russia-Serbia. There is no pre-war diplo. Sorry. Perhaps there were thoughts to have Serbia fold or not fold (you get a "historical" event for that), but it always starts the same way. Well yeah, but I don'...

Still, this kind of pre-war diplo is not implemented. In late July you only select the war plans, but the war will be happening. This is a war game. :) This is not a good reason. If we use the same reasoning, no nation should be able to select a war plan, especially not Germany. When war was declar...

"Late July" implies the war has not yet been declared, though.

Another question about diplomacy: there are some countries you can not declare war on. Seems to be China, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Brazil. Do those countries have no army? Or can you just not declare war on them but still get them to 100 %? I guess it would not happen too often. I am just ...

I think there should be one single event that IMMEDIATELY makes Great Britain join the war: if German ships are near the French, British or Belgian coast. As far as I know, one very successful argument that pro-war British politicians used was this: "France trusts us so much, they have their whole n...

Yeah, I do however think that from a gameplay perspective this is good. Great Britain is extremely powerful in the game. It seems to me that if you could keep Britain out of the war for some time, the East first strategy suddenly becomes very preferable to everything else. That said, I think it woul...

I don't think it needs to be prohibited. It's a terrible strategy anyway.
The only problem here is that the AI does it. So I would say you should fix the AI doing it, not prohibit it!

bob, the game probabilities is a huge dice. A dice can roll and give any result. Some results obviously happen more often that others (say the dice has many sides with the same number), others not. There is a number of freak occurences in your game that need further investigation, cause we did not ...

I argue because WE DO NOT KNOW how you reached that situation. This is not the way we troubleshoot the AI. Screenshots are snapshots of a situation that is indeed puzzling, but as long as I don't have a relatively early save game WITH the complete settings when you started the game, how on earth am...

Kensai, I do not really understand why you argue so heavily that the AI is so good. I am not trying to bash the game here, I love all AGEOD games! They are in fact more or less my favourite PC games in general. That does not change the fact that the AI is horrible though. Sure I have a save game tha...

OK, fair points.
Then let me say this: if, with the AI being as bad as it is, making it attack entrenched defenders at bad odds was a conscious decision by the developers, then I do not think it is a good one because the player is not constrained by it.

If they attacked fortified lines, then not without artillery and a considerable local troop superiority. With exceptions maybe, I am no...

The bizarre behavior described by bob must be rather uncommon to extract such generic remarks about the quality of the AI. AI sends troops everywhere!

Noticed that the AI apparently has no concerns for nationality of stacks when sending them around which results in some really weird stuff... mostly small things like Germans holding the line in Galicia or Russian siege artillery in Königsberg. But here's the most absurd one I encountered so far: ht...

It's a bit of a shame that this does not exist yet. It's one of those things about WW1 games that makes them a more difficult to design than games about most other wars if you ask me: the starting months of the war are usually the most difficult to play and later it becomes easier because entrenchme...
