Pompejus vs. Caesar Bug?

Hi! I played Pompejus in his struggle against Caesar. It was a quite easy, but it may have been a bug ;) I got all the legions in Spain AND in the east. Quite wired - I sent Pompiboy to Spain in the beginning. Soon the "Where do you want to send Pompejus" Event triggered - when Pompejus was in Spain...

Well, I'm not sure, for I captured all cities in Spain with Sertorius and in Gaul (including Massilia). So I had all strategic cities of Sertorius (and the "you control spain" and "you control gaul" triggered), but I have not won. Only when I captured Rome itself, the victory message appeared. Don't...

How to manage several armies in one province?

How does the engine handle, if you have 2 or three armies in one province? If I have 2 armies (Army A has 1 unit, Army B has 10 units). I set Army A on offense, Army B on defense. If the enemy enters the province, Army A will attack. Will Army B intervene? How can I know, which army will fight (e.g....

Anyway, this drew Sertorius to Emporiae and because I had amassed a large force there, so did Sertorius. Now I waited and let his men eat through all his supplies. And then they began to weaken! While my 8 legions were resting and being constantly supplied by land and sea. You've been sieged and ST...

I have a few questions to the explanations. 1. The weather won't change during the interturn, true? 2. To block a superior enemy army, it would be wise to make an army of your best elite, using just the frontage (so you can use the other troops elsewhere). But if the battle takes several combat-turn...

Yes, one of the problems is, that you come into a spiral of downfall. Not much chance against Sertorius (most battles: loss of moral). So you have to stay defensive -> Sertorius easily captures cities (loss of moral) and every few turns the event "enemy gets upperhand in the war" triggers -> loss of...

Well, that's all fine, but Sertorius didn't wipe out whole Roman armies. In the scenario, it only takes a few turns for him to completly destroy Pompejus' and Metellus' armies (he simply doesn't have to care much about terrain and enemy strength, as being superior in numbers, moral and fighting powe...

Thanks. You tested, what I just argumentad by feeling in some threads. I absolutly agree - it IS a problem. It is even more dramatic, if you transfer your results to the scenario itself. The Optimates incredible strength leads to easy victories - and therefore to a rising moral (the second very impo...

Now try the scenario with Rome - have fun :) However, Sertorius and Sulla are quite too strong imho. With Sulla you can play the same style as you just did with Sertorius. Well, now you know with side to play if you ever go Pbem ;)

Playing Severus I won when I killed Didius und the Emperor in the east. After the fall of Antiochia I was declared winner without having beaten Albinus. Or is this, because Albinus was my Caesar? Most probably not. In the 193 scenario I killed Didius and the emperor in the east, but didn't harm Albinus - and won. Must be a bug. With Vespasian I won the moment, when I took Rome. All ursupators were - maybe hardly, but still - alive. Hope this is fixed with the first patch.

Balanced which way? Out of interest, I tried the Optimates now. Didn't plan, just attacked whoever I found. Sulla, fighting nearly every turn, lost 3-4 elements - in the whole campaign. Didn't need to send him to Itlay, even the legions not commanded by halfgod Sulla smashed the Populares and Pontie...

How to win battles without high element-losses?

So far I have mastered some basics and won victories in the 68 and 193 scenario. Still, I have serious problems to win decisive battles. I somehow always loose them. Even more, even if losses are equal in numbers, I loose nearly always more elements. Example: Metellus (reenforced with one more legio...

There is a game logic or scripting bug, not an hardware one. To be clear, you can't get your new turn, each time you try it crashes? If the crash is reproducible, then we can fix it. No, after starting AJE again, I could click "resume game" and play on. about 8 oder 10 turns later, the same problem...

Hi!

Next problem arises. Two times in 20 turns the game crashed when evolving day 30 of the turn. Couldn't click "resume game", not even "load game". Had to restart AJE.
