Kinda play the EE? The EE can be tons of fun, without the diplomatic "restrains" the other two players face. It is a different play that many can appreciate. The historical abstraction of Russia is a fight against time. The player needs to make progress as fast as he can, otherwise he might face th...

GB definitely seems more hard-coded to join the Entente than probably is best. As you say, they usually drift that way no matter what you do. GB neutrality should be rare but possible. I'm not sure it is possible as the moment. I was a bit disappointed to discover that you can't do any diplomacy dur...

First, it wasn't necessary to do this for game balance - they could have given the WE and EE one diplomat each and the CP two or used any one of a number of other methods to balance the sides. Not that hard really. Second, they could have given the human EE player the ability to control EE diplomacy...

Thinking about this a bit more, it seems to me that preventing the AI from over-stacking would address the symptom, but the underlying problem is why the AI is building super-stacks in the first place. I wonder if it's not a consequence of the limited tools available to coordinate units For example,...

Because I'm not, but I've been a full supporter of lots of your game (I payed for a lot of them, see?), and, if it's the case, when I give a customer review, I hope for some professional replies and not an attempt to bully/coerce me into thinking I "acted wrong" with...

Acctually this game uses exactly the same system just on a different scale. Fred Zeppelin's proposal for instance would require changeing the system... In ACW/CW2 you have corps tied to army and a special unit type division. In ROP you have corps/column tied to army and a special unit type brigade....

Could some of this be caused by the fact that there are so many independent Corps that aren't tied to an Army? Perhaps AI units would wander less if they had to operate in conjunction with a parent Army. Just a thought.

Actually, corps if not stacked with an army are pretty much independent, so this is something you don't have to be worried about. I've been wondering about this too. For example, XII Corps was historically part of the German 3rd Army. Here, it starts next to 3rd Army but apparently is independent. ...

They can go anywhere and see everything. Don't waste them in a stack, send them to the enemy territory. They are a very powerful unit that can't be destroyed. At least I've never seen that happen to one yet. Nothing is more annoying than having one of those things parked behind your lines showing y...

Actually, if we want to model that, higher threshold for WE defeat would be better. The British still representing WE even with France signing an Armistice. I'd favor that, again just to add some variety to the game. Wouldn't necessarily do anything to spice up the game for the EE player, though.

The other possibility (if Britain remained in the war), would be a different story because of the Navy. No one mentiones the Navy. I know what I said was very simplistic, I just wanted to address another simplistic statement. The causes for the actual war were many and all of them very complex in nature, I think a good read on this topic is the Christopher Clark's work: The Sleepwalkers. Don't blame the germans for WW1, it's really absurd to say that they were the only ones responsible for the war, I'd say the Tsar (i.e the russians) was perhaps the main responsible there. That's a bit simplistic, I think. And it depends on whether you focus exclusively on the crisis of July-August...

And yes, I would maim and/or kill to have a more intuitive OOB display and construction system. France was in mutiny post Nivelle Offensive failure and UK alone stood strong. Small point, but this is a bit of an over-simplification.
