If I can manage to make my game run I will continue it, obviously. If not, it's up to you!
It's not for the faint of heart, Austria is really powerful in this one and has been in and out of wars with almost every neighbor since the early 50s. Their army is huge and experienced.
I cannot go on with my 1850 game as North German Confederation so here is the save game in 1866 just before all hell breaks lose between Prussia and Austria. :) In this game I witnessed an AI Austria that has become a behemoth. Both Russia and Austria started aggressive wars against a weak Ottoman E...
Understood. Nonetheless, games should follow OSes idiosyncrasies and not the other way around. This is for our security after all. Please take my comment as a suggestion for all future releases, I am pretty aware PON is a 2013 game and Windows 10 is not officially supported. However, this is a uniqu...
Guys, yes, I am an old dog in these forums and I don't want to bug the Philippes for a game that has been loved and supported way more than its natural expected life. But please, don't suggest me to deactivate the UAC. I have done this (momentarily; also others in the other games as you see in the t...
This is much more common than I/we probably thought. Happens in different AGEOD games. I wonder if the culprit has ever been found. Advising to disable the UAC or the antivirus is a little bit extreme, I feel. The game should run normally even without such customization, as all other games.
It is frustrating because it is a new machine. So everything is the latest. More frustrating is that the instability is totally random. I might process 3-4 or even more turns and then, boom, crash. I might reprocess the same turn and it might go on, but it might also block completely. Some more info...
There are three issues here. 1) If it was the UAC, I should be getting this error every single time. I take it randomly. 2) It is not UAC, because I launch the game with all privileges as I am the administrator, not some kind of delegated user. 3) I really don't want to mess with UAC for the reasons...
I reinstalled PON on my new Windows 10 game rig hoping to blast through turns. Indeed, turn processing is really fast, but the game is rather unstable. Every few turns, sometimes in a row, it simply crashes giving me this obscure error message. I am obviously the administrator of my PC and the game ...
Downloaded and updated from Steam version automatically. I will be starting a new vanilla game with Great Britain from scratch. The Grand Campaign scenario, from 1850. Promised to myself a "quick" campaign, only limited moves per turn and NO scripting. Want to see how the game fares now in full matu...
But will it be fast? What we came to love in AGEOD games is how detailed the stats can be, but this comes to the speed's expense. I personally treasure complexity and speed much more than graphics, at least for this kind of games.
If you have reached 150 NM it means that not only you held a lot of territory, but also won enough decisive battles. In my opinion, this combination can and should be a condition to end the game prematurely. You might have not gotten Paris yet, but surely the abstracted morale difference might be a ...
Give the game some turns to do its balance. I don't think that by 1880 the world economy in PON is unbalanced. Actually, I find the opposite problem (too much capital!) much more serious because it "overdrives" the game pace. Remember the little dirty trick of PON: DON'T be a mercantilistic player. ...
If they don't appear in the stats in respect to you, then you are "safe". It means they are probably much lower (or higher, doubtful) than you. I would use the console to switch to them temporarily to see their stats if it was critical. After all, I think that the bug with the invisible map won't al...
May I guess that it uses the same base mechanism as frontage? This could make sense as frontage is the same thing, more or less, but applied to battle. i.e. it tells you which units can effectively fight in a region according to its status. I would guess the traffic rule worked in a similar way, but...
Yes to all games, this is not dependent of the graphic engine used (PON uses one that is different from the rest of AGE game). Could you adapt it to PON? This could be a huge boon!! (sorry for hijacking, I am ecstatic for this new mechanism for all games, but PON probably needed this more than any ...
This game is perfect to learn and repass history of the era. If you follow the historical events closely, you will unify Germany as the real Prussia. ;) One of the lessons learned, though, to be applied in a future PON2 or PON Reloaded/Gold, is that we might need some more generic events to include ...
It might all be right, but simply the province returns quickly to the Ottomans due to Turkish military presence in the region. I do not remember bugs in this mechanism.
Mid 1915 is long enough to do your thing against either the Russians or the French. The British blockade and navy really made life for Germany difficult.
Have I ever told you guys that I am originally from Salonica (Thessaloniki)? Btw, both Sarrail and D'Esperey have given their names to streets in the city. The fact of the matter is this: Greece was really divided in WW1 about its stance. As Philippe said: the King wanted neutrality (actually stayin...
I am not done yet. :) Some photos of the Medical Station (Lazarett) of the Fort. http://i57.tinypic.com/2rmsdap.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/21o7v2v.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/34yoheg.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/eks4g0.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/2q05947.jpg
When Belgium is not invaded, Britain should be delayed at least some months, possibly well into 1915. Eventually I guess it would have joined out of rivalry with the Germans and to protect the French. I don't think the French can last long without the British help, even when the CP chooses a less ad...
Please, do not release an updated version without first looking into the WAR PLANS. They should work as intended, including decreasing the assigned NM, fixing the bug that gives GBR too much alignment swift in the opening rounds when Belgium is not invaded (it should stay out until 1915), giving Ita...
