Replacement pool screen

This screen still confuses me. If I understand correctly the top number is the number of hits that need to be replaced. Then the lower left number is how many are available for replacement? And you only have to have about 10% of the top number? And what makes the top number turn red with an explanat...

I think this is probably it. On the bright side I now feel much more of Lincoln's frustration with his generals. Not being able to attack is frustrating but not being able to move or attack is much worse.

Temporarily locked units

I recently started a new campaign after not playing this game for about a year and a half. I previously remember the leader activation rules and not being able to attack but now many times my leaders get temporarily locked for a turn, which appears to be a separate mechanic from activation. Is this ...

I don't spend a lot of time playing this gamebut I actually don't mind the new unit recruitment. I remember playing ACW as the Union and eventually I would reach a point where I would quit recruiting new units because it was a pain in the rear and I clearly had a large enough force to win. Yes, the ...

Anyone planning to do a Let's Play of the Grand Campaign? These tutorials are very helpful but there are a lot of other concepts to learn that are much easier to understand within he context of the game. I saw a let's play in German but alas my German is a bit... non-existent.

Strategy is overrated. Execution is underrated. The overweight smoker knows they should quit smoking and go on a diet, but most can't do it. Same thing here, most generals know they need to get there first with the most men but they can't cut through all the crap to actually do it.

Save files

How do I change the settings so the game saves more than 1 save file? I know I saw someone mention that in one of the threads but I can't remember where.

Prisoner Exchange

Is there a benefit to doing this? I figure I would be helping out the enemy out my giving him back some manpower.

I am not a fan of it, but if mayority of the people on the forum agree, Lee could be made Eastern theater leader, having command penalties when leaving East. The concept is already included in other Ageod titles. I wouldn't make those penalties high (-1/-1/-1 is enough). It would streamline to use ...

Yes, tutorials ... it is always difficult to make them good but they are very important, granted! I initially tried this game some years ago by downloading the demo and playing the tutorial. I was overwhelmed and couldn't get into it. More recently I gave it another shot. I used the tutorial again ...

Thanks for all the suggestions guys but Its just too much to manage all of it. I will have to find a civil war game that is not so in depth because there is just too much to keep track of with this game. I want to like it so bad but just find it all too much. I been watching vids and reading thread...

Proomoting generals

Playing my first campaign. Started easy with 1863 as Union. I just managed to win battles at Vicksburg, Fredricksburg and Wilmington, NC all in the same turn. This in turn led to 5 generals that are eligible for promotion. Can I only promote one per turn without incurring penalties? Won't I lose the...

Keeping up with new units

So is there an easy way to keep up with all the new units you can produce as the Union. When I create 2 or 3 large divisions in one turn it becomes very difficult keeping up with where they were created. I've actually resorted to taking notes on a piece of paper but I wasn't sure if some of the rost...

Also a new player... The Youtube videos from zerotasker were a huge help for me. Gives a great overview of all the logistics and everything that has to be done each turn. Useful threads for beginners in the forum also a big help when finding specific answers. Definitely start with the small battle s...
