This is very sad. The game has so many great ideas and attributes. All that really is needed to fix it would be to convert it into a two side game, the French and the allies. A few years ago, it looked like this was going to be done, but it never was, and most of the efforts of the Ageod team was p...
Is there a way to make the AI to a) buy more replacements and b) stop the single (or 2 or 3) regiment stacks running all over the map? I'm asking because I took a peak at the Grand Alliance side and their armies were grossly depleted despite being awash with money and recruits while these little st...
I guess there was a good reason why the game initially didn't allow the recruitment of additional garrison forces. It appears the AI likes to recruit such units to its detriment: AI Recruit.png The above is the garrison of Moscow in 1712 or 1713. Almost all those units are immobile garrison units. A...
I suspect you're right that AI is really misusing that decision. I'm playing the GNW scenario. It's Jan. 1707 and the AI Anti-Swedish forces have a grand total of -358 VPs. (That's right- the AI has negative VPs seven years into the campaign!) I just used the option to remove the Saxon-Polish troops...
All the ones available are probably already on the map. The French start that scenario with three-four "siege trains" each of which include two or three siege artillery pieces. If you lose one or more of them then you should be able to rebuild them.
The Danes will re-enter the GNW if the Swedish player doesn't have 100 line elements in Sweden AND Germany. Now, what exactly does the game consider "Germany?" I had fairly large armies in both Holstein and Pomerania with additional forces in Sweden which I believe contained well over the ...
Prior to the patch and now post patch, I have repeatedly seen the game log reporting the same sanitation events hitting the same besieged city and the besieging army multiple times. Is this a minor reporting glitch that is just repeating the same event multiple times in the log, but the event is onl...
Thanks for the response, and for the news about an upcoming patch. A few more issues and questions: 1) How is the Reject Honors of War decision supposed to work? I often see the opposing side offer my besieged garrison the Honors of War. Naturally, I want them to reject it, but whenever I try to use...
I've been playing WSS extensively since its release. Overall, I think it's one Ageod's better games and certainly their best release in years. It's as advertised- a "back to basics" Ageod experience with the classic 1-side vs. 1-side gameplay and lower "counter" density enabling ...
Hey i am struggling with few issues cocnerning decicions: 1) I am having a problem seeing an information about cost and results of decission. Should i press any kind of a button to see it? like click/cntrl? 2)How much money/recruits should draft and reqistion cards bring and should i i only be capa...
In the Great Northern War scenario, starting in October 1708 very harsh weather conditions ensue and continue throughout the ENTIRE year of 1709. Yes, the winter of 1708-1709 was brutal, but there weren't blizzard conditions EVERYWHERE in July or August! I wasted an entire year of game time just twi...
I had the exact same problem with WSS: the saved game files couldn't be found anywhere on my PC. Even a file search would fail to find them. Yet, I could still load and play the saves. I just couldn't find where on my PC they were being stored. They couldn't be found in either the folder that the ga...
As Phil stated, they're mostly useful for reconnaissance. Against the AI, naval recon isn't all that important because the AI is not very good at handling its navies. Against another human, who can and will use his navies for amphibious purposes and often in unexpected ways, then having small, fast ...
I trapped an Allied army near Gibraltar with Vendome's army and was systematically destroying because it couldn't retreat into Gibraltar because certain units in its army weren't allowed to enter that region. Thus, a battle was being triggered virtually every day of that turn because the enemy could...
I'm curious whether you've found much use for the French navy? I'm currently up to 1705 as the Bourbons in the 1701 Spanish Succession scenario, and I've found very little use for the Bourbon navies except for the corsairs and frigates which I use as raiders in commerce boxes. My ship-of-the-line fl...
Where may they be?! Well, as you commented with the .ord file, when you click the save button a text appear telling you the location. With the text on the screen, click the Print Screen button in the keyboard and paste in paint (or similar program). youmay upload the pic somewhere and post it here....
OK, last try. Note that Appdata is a hidden folder. C:\Users\Your name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Wars Of Succession\WSS\Saves Already looked in my appdata folder. Thanks for trying to help, but I'm pretty confident as to what caused this issue and know the probable...
Sorry, there are two systems of saving in Ageod games, there are .ord files in WSS. Try searching the saves in this folder: C:\Users\Your name\Documents\My Games It's not there. I have quite a few Ageod games so I'm familiar with how some of their games use the Documents folder for saved game files...
There are no .ord files in WSS, just .hst, look for them. Unless my eyes are truly failing me then WSS is saving the game to an .ord file because that's what it says it's doing when I press the save game button. It indicates that it's saving an .ord file to the WSS saved game folder. That folder do...
My thoughts: I jumped right into the 1701 War of Spanish Succession scenario as the Bourbons playing with the 2nd highest activation level (leaders sometimes won't be able to move if they fail an activation check) and historical attrition (player only) options. So far, my impressions have been good....
Will convey your remarks to the dev, those are valid points indeed :indien: After playing a bit more, I'm thinking now that you ARE supposed to move it to Cadiz and THEN move it back to South America in order for the event to trigger because that's what happened in my game. I had the treasure fleet...
I assume the income probably isn't great, but still I'm curious as to how it's supposed to work because I think I screwed it up by moving it to Cadiz. Yes you did :mdr: For what I understood from the designer when I tested it, you have absolutely nothing to do...don't touch it...it is supposed to w...
The gold Galleon fleet moves automatically from the New World to Spain (Cadiz) every turn, you have nothing to do (except may be go next to it with a strong fleet to protect it) The Requisition decision was slightly changed and we posted a quick fix here I'm sorry, but I'm still confused about how ...
Playing the Spanish Succession scenario as the Bourbons, one gets a Spanish "treasure fleet" from the New World. The tool tips say that as a "gold galleon" it "creates gold income when reaching Spanish Cadiz port." Now, I moved that "gold galleon" to Cadiz ear...
So I put a requisition in a city, the countryside or whatever and it always fails. Same with draft. I'm seeing the same thing as to requisitions: unsuccessful every time. Albeit, it's a very limited sample, but a 100% failure across the board does strike me as it's either being broken or the succes...
