Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

Carrying on with this informal AAR from late May 1920 to February 1921 To recap: --Reds finally gave up on trying to capture Kiev as Ukr gen Petluria dishes out defeat after defeat, with his combat values remaining at 1-0-0. The designer has given some sort of hidden bias here and I would be very i...

Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

Continuing on with the stealth AAR: Late May/20: Syzran on the Volga falls to the eastern Whites. Novorossysk on the Black sea falls to a Red partisan army. Tsaritsyn is invested yet again by Wrangle. Tukhachevsky consolidates the Red hold on the Donbass and Cherkassy on the Dniepr falls to the Red...

Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

I wonder why Stal was removed, as he worked as a general, like several others who were worst than him as a chaos bringer in the Red army, some becoming quite independent warlords but were welcome back in the army . Stalin had a good geo-strategist sight (defend Staritsyn and Lviv), despite he was b...

Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

The three-way pbem continues to March 1920 with notes below. Comments by my opponents are indicated WH3 (Eastern Whites) and WHI (Western Whites): Oct I 1919: Reds are being hammered from all directions. As expected an extremely bloody battle was fought east of Kazan with neither side entirely vict...

Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

Carrying on with our mod playtest: it's early August 1919. If we get further on we'll think about putting up a proper AAR but I am posting here with an eye towards the mod designer noticing that his work is still being played out and appreciated. And perhaps reappearing at some point to be interroga...

Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

I'm playing a new 3-way pbem as the Reds and we are approaching 1919 and it is going very well indeed. Very different than the vanilla game--most challenging. Some comments sent in-game: Late Oct/18: Red forces in the south are finally recovering and regrouping somewhat. Substantial red troops are b...

Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

TOTAL REDIT (October 10th '22): With my doughty opponent we are having at it and are a few turns into our test. So far no bugs. A few pbem comments might amuse, me as the Reds: WHITES: "So much space... so many units... so much to do. Not sure if my little brain can handle this. After giving or...

The Battle of Paducah Redux

In my current game playing the CSA Bedford Forrest is charging into Paducah in spring 1863. This reminded me of a previous battle where I had Jackson defending Paducah in October 1861 against Grant. My original "creative writing AAR" of that follows. Jpegs didn't make it through. If there ...

Coureurs des bois

Not easy to translate into English, it meant "runner of the woods" but it had many connotations that were understood. They were an independent entrepreneurial French-Canadian trader who traveled in New France and the interior of North America, usually to trade with First Nations peoples by...

Yes the original problem was corrected by your fix; 97th foot appearing twice is the only issue I am seeing now.

Re: 1812 Campaign Game Reinforcement Glitch

I've run it through pbem and the MacDonell reinforcements are not repeating themselves; however 97th Foot appears duplicated for some reason.

Re: 1812 Campaign Game Reinforcement Glitch

Just the same units over and over, along with MacDonell as well. It may include July as well, I'm not sure as I started noticing it in August and every turn after that until the end of the game.
A fix would be well-received thanks.

1812 Campaign Game Reinforcement Glitch

In August - Oct 1814 Lt. Col. MacDonell with a number of foot and artillery units arrives in Quebec City (Kebec); however, these reinforcements are duplicated and arrive turn after turn after this. I've tested this three times. This is a superb scenario and it's a shame to see it marred with a glitc...

I gather any future titles using the WeGo CW2/RUS system are a lost cause at this point, but was any thought given to a depiction of the Boer War? It seems a perfect subject to have done.

Re: Player Notes on Revolution Under Siege

Hi Baris, I'd love to see a mod with a separate Anarchist player, and Poles as well as I have said elsewhere. Defensive battles... you're right, but I imagine their benchmark in this was making sure that Tsaritsyn would not be a roll-over for Western Whites early on. I imagine there are many Russian...
