One of the advantages of the Corps is that it should be able to fight on its own until supported. I'm not sure a small 2 Div corps can do that very effectively. I usually try to go with 3 Div corps if I expect them to do the fighting. You could use a 2 Div corps as a reserve though.

Colonel level against Athena I like the idea of giving the AI a recruitment and combat boost to make the game more challenging. However the movement boost is completely unrealistic. In my current game the AI marched a 30K+ army from somewhere south of Fredericksburg all the way to Baltimore in 8 day...

Started a campaign for the CSA on very hard difficulty with historical attrition. The historical attrition is certainly hampering me but it doesn't seem to affect the AI.
