Varus also ended up with pretty poor legions, the best troops being sent to crush the rebellion in Dalmatia (a pretty big affair now more or less forgotten). He led a mop up operation with poor troops and fell in what ended up being a clever trap.
Regarding the tactical game, I would have liked to have something akin to what the old computer game conquest of the new world where you had simplish but fun battles in the scheme of a civ type of game set in the new world. It would be nice to have that as a non-FOG layer rather than either big tact...
So what is happening ? Pocus posted that there would be a presentation of the new game today and now it seems that his post us gone ? Did I dream it ? Where are we ?

Neither am I, but let's see. If even if I am not encouraged, the fact that I still come here almost 3 years after WON was released speaks volume about my secret hope for a great game.
Thanks POCUS, you do what you can... My bet would then be a game based in antiquity, sort of AJE2 but with the possibility of also playing hellenic times.
Pocus is the heart and sole of the development team. There are other full-time devs working on the project but it is Pocus' vision that drives everything. Philippe Thibaut was very much on the management side and supporting other devs to make games in the old engine. He contributed considerably in ...
I find it a bit scary to be honest... I still hope we will get some nice new games in the future but who knows. Phil Thib and the "board game" feel are sort of the essence of what made AGEOD different, in an era of either hardcore simulation à la WITP or arcadish games with historical feel...
I've played over 300 hours of WoN against the AI and after 2 full campaigns I gave up. There are so many problems with the game I finally uninstalled it as the devs are obviously not doing any improvements to the games which was a shame as I really was looking forward to a good Napoleon era game an...
While waiting for Ageod's game I also find myself very interester bya Agressors Ancient Rome that is being developped by Slitherine... Sort of an old school CIV/colonization feel to it.
It is still the best game they ever made simply put. Just like EUII or CIVII would still be a good buy 20 years later. This game is THE classic of their repertoire.
Is the AI auto compensating for losses as bad as said on Ultimate General? I did not bought it because of that. The problem is that the campaign is like in Robert Lee civil war, not a real campaign but battles after one another with imported results. Without a compensation mechanism one would face ...
You must know, I am involved in a half dozen seven player games of WON. They are all going very well. We have met a few technical challenge which are easily solve with a tech officer who knows even a minimal amount about modding. Love the game, its complexity and the diplomatic interface. Really, t...
yep. As AGEOD gives us less and less biscuit, less and less people come. And those who come are more and more impatient and not as "happy chappy" as one could hope. At least that's my case. I suppose I should stop coming because I am not really being helpful, I feel like a whiny broken rec...
It's a Spruce Goose. Like PON, a game that's just too big. yeah... The engine just cannot carry that many variables and moving parts. For it to work the engine should have been focused on the wargame and all the rest of the game should have been streamlined and card driven. Too bad really because t...
I am sorry but I beg to differ in terms of your evaluation of this game. Having played two complete campaigns games and (documenting them earlier in this forum), I know of no finer game on the period. This game truly requires players to utilize Napoleonic Grand Tactics, and to understand the person...
Small countrie should have made passive or "card" driven. The fact that the CP has to run all elements for them (diplo, production, troops movements, etc..) made the game unnecessarily heavy and messy.
See, I have to be honest here I am still flabbergasted by the way this game has been promoted all the way to its release... I want to support you guys but this has been an utter disaster : - No keeping the community of established or potential customers interested by some regular tidbits on the work...
In honestly don't understand how could the game be released in the coming weeks and no further info/screenshot/feature explanation be given here since then. It's really frustrating tbh, and it makes us fans sound lik whiny sissies which is even more frustrating.
Marketing guys should be shot, for one of two reasons : - Either because they are responsible for lack of transparency, withering the link between a developper and its potential customers. - Or because they are the convenient scapegoats for delayed developments and difficulties in the studio, in whi...
Philthib, this is a poor answere and you know it. We might sound a bit like whiny all hags, but at heart we are customers who are genuinely interested in your games and who have done our bit to help make them better and spread the word on how good they were, when they were really good. I have no dou...
