Re: fleets and distant unload

I have never done what you explain about ships and unload and moving away; however, try what works with land units so they can march and return to their home.
Hold the shift key as you move.

Bohémond, thanks so much for your help, it was indeed a character misplacement a - for a ~ very hard to find, but our persistent game master's daughter had better eyes than all of us players.

The problem with posting a screenshot is the ords do not appear in the game load menu at all.
I did look at the non-posting files and they all have identical 'signs'

Re: Now that WOS is Out...How About WON as 2-Player?

Yes, it can be played two player very well. Players just need some house rules for neutral majors: random, deterministic, or roll of the dice (random number generator).
But seven player pbem games are a lot of fun. Great game for play. A few glitches still in need of fixing, but not a deal breaker.

Re: Now that WOS is Out...How About WON as 2-Player?

Maybe this is the correct next direction, but I am mixed. I wanted a two player game with 30 day, that is, month long turns. However, I am in several seven player games. In one, I am the Ottoman. It is not a 'boring' faction to play at all. I have minor powers to conquer and alliances to support. Th...

I am totally onboard with your pain. I was very lucky to go v=for Denmark first without qualms. It worked. So I second your advice to players. Knock out Denmark. All might not be well, but all will be better.

Re: Should I have control of these objectives?

Until Loyalty is 51% you must garrison with a non-militia unit (train bands in this game). So, you need a military unit until you gain enough loyalty. The good news, unless you are short of units, garrisoning the low loyalty regions raises their loyalty. And the bonus, once you reach 51% then the re...

Oh yes indeed. France is a major player in the war.
One really nice design feature is that one decision may take you down ahistorical paths. But you can usually gain France's intervention.

Re: Should I have control of these objectives?

I know you are asking Liebst but just a note. Raising loyalty is a long term investment. You need regular infantry, at least one, or one of the few cards which impact loyalty.
For me, to raise from the usual 25% loyalty to 51% (auto garrisons) is about a year.

Re: Idiots to the Fore

Conceptually, the default general is a 2-1-1 unlike most other AGEOD games where the default is typically a 3-1-1. This works well as it places a premium on army leadership with corps following in movement and battle. You will note you have a few excellent army commanders and cavalry leaders. Additi...

Re: Destroyed units and supply lines questions

The display is original supply status plus depots built. It does not reflect the rebuilding of capacity. Often, slow methodical play for the Romans is a more secure way to win in the east. I just can not do that, so I make very fast moves and shuttle supply if quick sieges are not in the cards, but,...

Re: Problem running turn

My guess is your display is just a bit off the positioning of the actual run turn. That is why it is saying 'save complete'' You should be able to just click around and it will go.

The cntl F9 keys will also advance the turn.

Re: Is just playing scenarios - e.g. Borodino any good

I suspect this scenario is 'hidden' as it is the eighth scenario and is not on the opening page. It plays ok, but I have a display issue when I open the game - I cannot see the screen. But if I hit my E key it takes me to a land unit and all is ok. When I say it plays ok, I have only played two turn...

You do know a game is an interpretation, just as your comment is an interpretation? I find it a lot of fun to find how the designer chooses to designate leadership factors.
For instance, no game has gotten Rosecrans leadership qualities right.

Re: novice question - destroying infrastructure

Be assured that any game can only model so much, so if you love an era, like my obsession with the American Civil War, you look for the game which best represents the era. Not the game you would have produced if you controlled all factors. It is kind of like reading histories of the war or watching ...

Re: Destroyed units and supply lines questions

Supply does not 'move' in AJE as it does in many other AGEOD games. Instead, it uses simply supply; which means, supply only exists in the region where it is generated. If you are adjacent to a supply source and have a wagon, you can draw supply from an adjacent supply source in addition to the regi...

It can be tough to find mods with active links. I am assuming you looked on the PON Mod page and could not find much. Several forum members provide mods or mod commentary. Two which come immediately to mind are loki and Burns. If you search for the those two by name you will find several mods.
