Re: Critical Error with CTD

In my experience, most crashes are due to either not running in admin mode or running multiple games without exiting.

Re: Use of Armies before Corps are enabled

Primarily an army provides better command control. You do not get the battle bonus of attached corps, but you do get your forces in command control without penalty.

Re: Imbalanced events

I guess you could say some are hidden as they are based upon events, regions taken and alliances consummated or denied. Most are dependent upon lines of play which are usually historical, but some appear only in anti-historical play. But I think the main thing I am suggesting, the game is very balan...

You know, I have been thinking about your post for a couple of days. I think I disagree with you on several account. First of all, AGOED is so great about applying necessary patches long after games are released. But mostly, the game is very balanced with regard to NM awards and incentives. Not all ...

This probably means Brandenburg is not yet at war or not part of your faction.

Oh sure, your cruisers can do great damage. Just understand you are now in a cat and mouse game about who moves fleets when and where and keep to base for supply issues. Look especially for your commanders who have a raider traits for your cruisers.

Re: Impressions and notes

I am sure you all realize that playing as Greece or Brazil is not a part of the core design of the game. The game is a marvel in that you can play these minor powers and have a decent time doing so. The eight original and now ten base nations play with issues like generals and such quite smoothly, t...

Re: New player, need naval and diplomacy help

What to do with the navy as CP? Yes, look for an Entente mistake for sure. It is ok to trade as you have been doing. You can take a chance on catching a part of the British fleet with occasional sorties to the blockade box. Besides these sorties, probably you do not need the blockade box. Both Austr...

Re: WoN current state

I have just started a campaign playing each country solo, do all the events work correctly if you are in control of each nation? Also will there be a future patch for the game, it just seems like this game has been dropped like a hot potato! Thanks! This is the way to play solo, play all nations. M...

Re: Replays

Many players simply rely upon the Leger to review their opponent's play. To see the replay is a bit complex, but if you know the exact install location of your game files, then it can be very simple. When you have loaded your game use this command ctrl ~ That is Control and the Tilda sign ~ On USA c...

Re: Battle Planner Tutorial or Documentation

I think of this as a plan with potential for good or not. Kind of like First Manassas when both sides attacked the Right Flank. It is a rock, paper, scissors kind of deal, you need to be lucky as much as you need to be wise.

Re: Need a guide to reorganizing Austro-Hungarian Armies

I concur with Epaminondas advice.

Landwehr can upgrade with experience. Artillery are neutral. It is easy to miss the command penalty as it shows only in battle, not in organization. Challenging to play this faction well, as it was historically.

You know nlancier, this is an interesting comment and perspective. I have played so many games one-on-one I never thought about the desire for games involving more players. I do enjoy 3+ player games as this is a nice way of expanding play and players, but personally I thought a two player Napoleon ...

You are not doing anything wrong. The ability to form division and corps are a question of time. You cannot form corps early in the war. So just wait and it will become available.

Re: Just short question about leaders-generals

I do not know the gospel answer to your question, but this is my take: Strategic Rating is a judgment evaluation of the designers' take on a leader's initiative, motivation and celerity in moving troops. While leaders gain combat knowledge in battle or lose confidence in themselves, they typically d...

Re: Swedish Army trapped in saxony after Treaty of Altrendast

It appears you have two things causing the issue. The first is that you cannot remove the artillery which are locked in the region. The second is the game is treating the region as if it has harsh weather. Because army handling has the same problem minor allies have in WON in that you cannot remove ...

I am not an expert at playing PON as Japan, in fact, I have never played as Japan, but from what I do know, two campaigns are worth pursuing, the first against Korea and the second against China. Disbanding older units is a good move, but it might take a few turns to see the benefit. I do suggest tw...
