Re: PLAYER NOTES on REVOLUTION UNDER SIEGE

Wow. For anyone interested in this game and those who have played it, these player notes are amazing. This is a complex and challenging game to play, which is exactly why you should learn to love this game. pbem is the way to play with the unique split of the whites into two factions, the game reall...

Re: Multi-player question

What is supposed to happen is the missing player(s) turn is saved, marked as inactive, and the game proceeds.
If this happens twice in succession the player is dropped.
Seems from your note, this is not what happened.

No real answer. I have never seen this.
Maybe I do not understand what greyed out means. You can access and play, so what is the issue?

Re: Invading Serbia

I only play pbem so if this is a game versus AI the experience may not be the same. As the Central power I always take out Serbia first. The historical plan means likely a year before you can do it. The Conrad plan is risky, as you say, but totally worth attempting. I have had success with this as y...

Well ERISS, it is not a simple updating. It is a new conceptualization. A very new and, to me, unique approach to this conflict. So I cannot answer you directly as I have not played all the issues you suggest as they are presented in a very different manner.

Don't panic. Find someplace to expand. Keep up the faith, this is actually important as your fanaticism is a bonus. It is a tough faction, many are, but the tough ones are fun if you are not wedded to winning.

At last, a sequel, but this time in longer battle games. You will likely enjoy what the designer of this game has done in his new release, Battles for Spain.

Hey Leibst - I knew we had more in common than a love of the Spanish Civil War. What you said is almost exactly my experience. I looked forever for a decent American Civil War game and when I found it, I was sunk into befuddlement with its seeming complexity. Then I learned to love it. By the way, n...

Re: Is this still the Best Strategy Guide around for PON ?

Probably the AARs in this forum are the best strategy guides. There are several focus upon economics, but a few focus upon the battles. Do you play other AGEOD titles? If so, something like AJE or WIA are very similar militarily.

I agree with Leibst about WIA, but if you are an American Civil War nut like I am, then CW2 is totally worth learning how to play

Yes, as an extreme test, make sure no subordinate corps commanders are in these regions, place everyone on green/green with evade combat. This should work for sure.

Re: Is there a way to disable "March to the sound of the guns"?

The easy way is to make this units subordinate to a different army. March to the sound of guns primarily moves armies and their subordinate corps, not unattached units.

I really know nothing about cohesion. Maybe someone else does.
This is a shipping box, so any transports operate as merchant ships. Usually Russia and Germany lack merchants ships to place here.

Re: Baltic Shipping Box

It works very much like any other naval/shipping box. You might say whatever one side can do, so can the other. Either Germany or Russia can place merchant ships here to receive some shipments. Either side can use submarines and/or naval commerce raiders. You really cannot use this box to blockade. ...

Don't give Pocus too much of a hard time about this one, the behavior changed as the game evolved.

Load the troops, put the whole force into passive mode, select avoid combat. This will get you out.

Pretty sure loki100 is explaining the server does not hold any game files, it uses the players' games. So as it touches each players' game in executing the turn, all players will need to have the script incase it is his/her computer hosted game moment which is used to run the script. Loading a scrip...

Byron - did you do as Pocus suggested? This is how you would do it: After the turn you ran which did not work. Back up one turn. Then enter the saves folder and find TUR file, there should be two. Delete these. Go back into the game and do at least two things, like move a unit or buy a new units. Sa...

About #2 - Haiti is an independent nation. You have a couple of courses of play the simplest being: declare war, win the war, then occupy Haiti with regular troops (and no Haitian troops present). This will eventually allow you to win the loyalty of Haiti and will give you the objective. However, to...

AGEOD game victory decisions are very different than those typically used in other games by being ground more realistically in history. So if you are getting a victory by points this early in your game experience, you are doing very well. You may wish to try one of the other battle scenarios if vict...

Assault posture has so much more to do with whether or not your units will March to the Sound of Guns or engage in a synch march than in the battle. When you move into an enemy controlled region all your units switch to assault mode. Learning to win is tough. Once you beat AI, come back for some pbe...
