It's still there, but if you use it, don't bother reporting any bugs! If distant unload is really giving you an ulcer, mod as follows: ⋅ Open UserInterface.opt found in \ACW\Settings [use notepad or other text editor] ⋅ Find the line SpecOrder14 = 0 // DistUnload ⋅ Cha...

The distant unload troops also suffer cohesion loss while landing, as it is considered movement. You mentioned that in the old way that riverine movement may reduce cohesion losses to troops while landing. That implies a cohesion hit over and above the normal cohesion hit due to movement. The new D...

The distant unload troops also suffer cohesion loss while landing, as it is considered movement. Are you sure the debark was fully completed? I'd like to see a save game of that if true... Writing an event requires we know the region. No command exists to do that... By the way, the Distant Unload w...

Compare new Distant Unload to "old method": Distant unload: load troops, move to coastal region adjacent to target, select Distant Unload. Troops will start to debark on arrival of fleet. Fleet move may be delayed from port [random], debark takes ~ 5 days. So, "same turn ashore" limited to ~ 10 or ...

Two points. First the reason that I believe you are receiving resistance in discussions in the thread, and the reason for my answer to your opening this thread, is that you are not asking to discuss the changes in the public betas, you challenged the forum to convince you. To your question of wheth...

New to the game, I am planning on blocking CSA moves into KY by using river gunboats to blockade the necessary rivers, from Cairo to Nashville. But ... I am 4 gunboats short. So, how long is the build time for the various ships? I know it won't be 1 turn, but I'm hoping its not 6 months or more. Th...

I refer here to a discussion in the appropriate thread where I made my statements. The difference mainly is that before you loaded the troops on ships and then drove them to the destination. Then in the next turn you ordered the unload, which gave the CSA a response time of one turn. Now you load a...

Quote: With two to three divisions and fleets the Union can lay havoc to (almost) the entire Confederation with a "one-rests-one-runs" strategy. Having the rate doubled at which Union troops and generals get experience being doubled (Hooker for 3-star!) only as a side effect. Not sure what you mean...

All changes that were made to the game are favouring the Union to different degrees. Having never played the Union myself I have a somewhat lopsided idea of how each change effects play balance. As a CSA player I do know that there are times in my game when I find it prudent to destroy a whole lot ...

Noone has to upgrade. You can go back to/stay with whatever version you liked better. We have tried to bring the game up to date with new features of the game engine, and fix some obscure issues as part of that. These are called Public Beta for a reason... Of course that goes without saying. Just a...

Correct me if I am wrong, but am I reading right that the siege calculation was changed to the same one as RoP? I was reading in the Rise of Prussia AAR earlier how it was calculated using a 15 sides die roll.

Does this new change make it easier, or harder to achieve a breach?

I see a very big change with regards to sabotaging railroads. That will take some getting used to. Sounds like your going to now want at least a 60 strength stack with at least one pillager unit if your sending out sabotuers. If you are worried that an improvement the AEGod people and their players think is good, is not good for you, do a double install: your old game and the new update. Another game you might want to consider is RUS. Like RoP it's a fine game and in many ways closer to ACW (more economic options than RoP and mobile warfare due to railroads). Is "Revolution Under Siege" more refined in terms of Patch candidates? Which of the two is more actively tinkered with to im...

I am totally in love with the Civil War game, but I am desperate for a change of flavor to avoid getting burned out. To that end I have been reading about all the other games all night it seems. Here's how I do Missouri as the Union: If the CSA builds up divisions and corps in Arkansas to stop you, so much the better. Tying up a big CSA army in the West is even better than taking Little Rock. The farther you go, the harder it is for the CSA to get a foothold to fight back. Each new objecti...
