Re: Civil War statues

I agree with you 100%, Gray Fox ... and I'm a New York Yankee [though I live in NC now]. The thing is, it is but a small part of the overall continued effort by many "progressives" in this country to bury the history of our nation, which they consider tarnished to say the least. Here are s...

If you want to narrow the focus, choose Middle Atlantic [as the CSA]. That will show you all support units & supply. They can be placed in any valid region, not just MA.

Re: game crashes to desktop

OK -- this applies to CWII, but is probably relevant here. I install clean versions of Windows quite frequently, I seem to always have these types of crashes with my game. Recently - on a refreshed system with clean installations [as Administrator] - played a full campaign as the CSA. First year was...

Re: New Game Topic

The gaming world is in dire need of a strategic WWII Pacific Theater game -- one that is designed in the usual beautiful AGEOD manner ... and is PLAYABLE. Vietnam would be cool, too. I wouldn't mind seeing a New World conquest endeavor and/or the Indian Wars. Just my 2 or 3 cents.

Re: Upgraded to 1.063, got an error starting

Try changing the compatibility settings for cw2.exe to Windows 8 [also, Run as Administrator] --- that seemed to help on my system, though it still crashes on load occasionally. I think it has something to do with that Textures setting not staying put. If you are on the System Settings page and chan...

Re: Upgraded to 1.063, got an error starting

OK, game is working. Still seems a bit sluggish compared to what I remember. I'm on the same computer as before. Interestingly, I'm able to change the Memory Usage setting from 10% to a higher amount, but when I click back to System, it is set to 10% again. Could that have something to do with the ...

Hmmm .. I have never seen that! [In the full campaign] Speaking of ... I have dusted off the game again with patch 1.06.3 and am having a great time with it once more. However, while Lee is locked in Richmond, he does not activate when the Yankees get close. Even a few times the message box states t...

I'm ok so far. Matrix game with manual install of matrix 1.01 patch over 1.02 RC. I didn't use the in game update. I'd try downloading the patch again...May be a corrupt download. Good luck! For $4.99 I think I'll give it a shot. Can't beat that! Thank you, 'Gents. I am surprised by the lack of Vietnam-era games out there. Ageod??? I guess it might be too tactical in nature for Athena.

Recommended Vietnam era or WWII [European Theater or Africa/Italy] Games

Looking for something that will play on a Windows 10 system with no issues. Not looking for anything that is a first person shooter, arcade style game. Grand strategy and/or tactical game. Is the Panzer series any good?

Ended up choosing Order of Battle: Pacific, for several reasons: 1 - I liked the look of the game 2 - It is current and therefore playable on Windows10 [very nicely] 3 - It is alive & vibrant ... big patch out with a free add-on included, Battle of Britain [1940], and released that must be paid for ...

Well, if you have a ridiculous amount of free time on you hand, there's War in the Pacific: Admiral Edition. Just be forewarned it's a MASSIVE game, involving turns as short as 1/day, and turns can easily take up to an hour or so to plot. It was a bit too involved for me, but I could see the promis...

No ... not using Steam, at least not with this game, I just sent them an e-mail to try and switch the game over. Anyone know of a good strategic WWII PC game focusing on the Pacific theater? Something relatively new that would work on Windows 10. Is there such an animal?

What exactly IS the proper sequence of installing all these files? I usually do this: AJE PO version - AJE UnlockPO patch - Cantabrian Wars - BOR setup - Hannibal setup - then, the most recent patches; AJE-BOR-Hannibal. It always works, so I guess that is OK. Just put a fresh clean install of Window...

Loved that game growing up. There's the Scourge of War series, which I guess is sort of the spiritual successor to the Sid Meier's games. But I'm still waiting and hoping that one of these days some developer will make a great strategic civil war game that includes a dynamic 3D tactical battle engi...
