Re: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and what are you doing these days thread!

HOI4 is okay, but you need some AI mods for it to be remotely challenging in SP. It's also very deep mechanics wise, while in some ways being too light (the lack of any sort of chain of command enforcement is particularly glaring). Upcoming patch deals with chain of command and much more. I don't k...

Ageod's Civil War II
Order of Battle
Hearts of Iron IV

That's about all I play these days. Pretty hooked on HOI4 at the moment.

Re: 'Check for update' auto update not working?

No problem here, General. One of my Ageod games - I forget which one - has never updated properly [or, as the other games do] ... I just checked, it is To End All Wars. Clicking the Check for Updates button does nothing - but click. :bonk:

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but the Missouri Brigade usually [always?] appears in the game not yet fully formed. Shortly thereafter, another brigade or two will appear separately. Together, they form the full Missouri Brigade.

Interesting that there is always a minority position. We can also find Americans that supported the British in 1776.... WARNING to all members. This is obviously a very hot political topic in USA these days. This thread will be deleted and all parties warned at any hint of rancorous debate.... Seem...

I agree with you 100%, Gray Fox ... and I'm a New York Yankee [though I live in NC now]. The thing is, it is but a small part of the overall continued effort by many "progressives" in this country to bury the history of our nation, which they consider tarnished to say the least. Here are s...

If you want to narrow the focus, choose Middle Atlantic [as the CSA]. That will show you all support units & supply. They can be placed in any valid region, not just MA.

Re: game crashes to desktop

OK -- this applies to CWII, but is probably relevant here. I install clean versions of Windows quite frequently, I seem to always have these types of crashes with my game. Recently - on a refreshed system with clean installations [as Administrator] - played a full campaign as the CSA. First year was...

Re: New Game Topic

The gaming world is in dire need of a strategic WWII Pacific Theater game -- one that is designed in the usual beautiful AGEOD manner ... and is PLAYABLE. Vietnam would be cool, too. I wouldn't mind seeing a New World conquest endeavor and/or the Indian Wars. Just my 2 or 3 cents.

Re: Upgraded to 1.063, got an error starting

Try changing the compatibility settings for cw2.exe to Windows 8 [also, Run as Administrator] --- that seemed to help on my system, though it still crashes on load occasionally. I think it has something to do with that Textures setting not staying put. If you are on the System Settings page and chan...

Re: Upgraded to 1.063, got an error starting

OK, game is working. Still seems a bit sluggish compared to what I remember. I'm on the same computer as before. Interestingly, I'm able to change the Memory Usage setting from 10% to a higher amount, but when I click back to System, it is set to 10% again. Could that have something to do with the ...

Recommended Vietnam era or WWII [European Theater or Africa/Italy] Games

Looking for something that will play on a Windows 10 system with no issues. Not looking for anything that is a first person shooter, arcade style game. Grand strategy and/or tactical game. Is the Panzer series any good?

Well, if you have a ridiculous amount of free time on you hand, there's War in the Pacific: Admiral Edition. Just be forewarned it's a MASSIVE game, involving turns as short as 1/day, and turns can easily take up to an hour or so to plot. It was a bit too involved for me, but I could see the promis...
