While choosing battleplan, it will show posture of the stacks that initiated combat. In battlereport it will show posture of the top ranking stack that was involved in combat (MTSG included). Most of the time, they have same posture, but sometimes they don't.

I think Battle of the Somme would be an example in popular mindset of futile attacks vs barbed wires and machine guns. This is casualty ratio from wikipedia: British: 794.000 German: 537.000 I think the game simulates these attacker:defender casualties ratio well. They died on both sides, mostly fro...

Kluck and Buelow take a large seniority hit if you fail to take Paris by the end of year, at the same time when Moltke is forced into retirement. That happened in RL, so the game reflects that by lowering their seniority. I also think entrenchments should be somewhat stronger. The problem is heavy a...

This is fun what if discussion. I don't think, they would made big landing force. Not enough political will for casualties back home (also familiar). But they would surely lift the blockade of the South. Would that help the South to win the war. Most likely not. Even if they had all the resources in...

If you are playing Russia and have auto replacement turned on, it is normal not to have ws at all. Auto replacement wants to replace losses in every fortress gun on the map. Well, as Russia, you can't keep manned every fortress gun on the map. Since, they lack so much of ws, you have to economize an...

AI doesn't know it's worth 10 NM. It could be done if Mannass would be temporary objective (F9) screen. So, for AI, it's only strategic rail junction. Sadly, it has no real NM objective value.

I argued that VP are imbalanced long time ago. Having Union morale under 60 points in 64 elections is quite impossible because of NM resilience (it tends to recover to 100). So, VP balance is off by far. If he does better than history, CSA player is the winner IMO.

When you think of it, historical WE win was also without that aha effect. There was never final push for Berlin in this war. But upper NM win should be achievable. I imagine quick victory by taking Paris in 1914 ala 1870 was quite possible.

Russians shiped a brigade/division sized force to Verdun. One of the lesser known things in the war. Of course, the French had to equip them properly... They did it when the French threatened to cut war supply aid to Russia if they don't do something while Germans were pressing at Verdun. And Serbs ...

British rebel alignment needs to be fixed. I think AI is poor at keeping Atlantic box defended with ASW units. Maybe that's why developers decided it is lesser evil to forget about its effect on Britain altogether than to result in Brits going out of the war in 1916 because AI can't keep Britain sup...

The only problem with Russia first is its size. They can prolong the conflict with hit and run tactics, depot burning, retreating and rail smashing. At the same time, while you are chasing ghosts that refuse combat in the East, the French and Brits are sure to do something to relieve their ally.

The aim of the rule was to prevent Army generals from directly commanding troops. They didn't excersise direct command over divisions, their Corps commanders did that. Only in rare occasions, such as Lee at Chanceroville they took over direct command.

Could you be referring to the fact all casualties are in Corps stack and none in Army stack?
It is a rule in AGE engine games that Army stack receives fire only after all other friendly stacks are routed/eliminated. I am not sure it is a good rule, but it is what it is at the moment.
