Depot Build

I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I purchased the game recently and am confused with what seems to be an inconsistency between what is contained in the manual and what actually happens in the game. The manual states that a depot is built by expending two supply unit wagons--although in ...

F2-screen? They represent elements. Exactly how many elements each replacement represents might vary from type to type, as it does in RUS (which I am surmising from your asking that you haven't played). (For me this screen is broken, as I have problems clicking to get replacements because they also...

Replacement Screen

I'm having trouble figuring out what the information on the replacement screen represents. Are these units, elements, men? Are they used for both units in construction and losses to existing units?

Ethnic Groups

I have two questions regarding ethnic groups in the game and the rules relating to them. First, who are the Slavs intended to represent in the game? I thought the term Slavic signified a broad group of peoples, which included Russians, Czechs, Slovaks, Serbs, Croats, Poles, etc., some of whom are al...

GHQ Reserves

How are units assigned into and out of GHQ reserves? The manual talks about how important it is, but never seems to describe the mechanics.

Can't Browse Detachments

According to the manual, pressing the Ins key should browse the land/naval detachments of the selected army/fleet. Nothing happens when I do this, however. The other browse functions--Enter and Space--work properly. Has anyone else had this problem?

Page 92 of the full manual states: "Starting with 1915, any Diplomatic Action check involving Italy implies a prior “D’Annunzio” check (famous Italian poet and orator). The detailed procedure for the “D’Annunzio” check is in the Appendices." My interpretation of "imples" was that the D'Annunzio chec...

D'Annunzio

I have a question about this rule. The manual says it is invoked automatically starting in 1915 if a diplomatic action is tried for Italy. Elsewhere in the manuual it is listed as a political action. Can it be used once autiomatically and subsequently as a political action by the same side?

My apologies

I just wanted to say that posted two questions to the wrong sub-forum about a week ago. I noticed the sub-forums in Spanish and French and assumed that the one labelled "AAR" was the one for questions abouty the game in English. My apologies.

follow-up question--ship construction

I am posting this as a new thread because i think some of you who read the original thread may know the answer, but will miss the my follow-up question. I originally asked how to build smaller ships, AC, CL. and DD since the ship building interface--the first small box on the left next to the flag w...

ship construction

I am new to WWI Gold amd am excited about the game. I really enjoy strategical war games that combine the military, economic, and political aspects of WWI and WWII. The game is quite complex, but i have submerged myself in the rules and have started my first game as the Central Powers. My first ques...
