If I open your xls file I see it's not properly formatted in its columns. So I suggest you first to mod the original xls file (Modding folder) by adding the new turn rule row (use MS Excel, of course). Then save the file once in xls format and finally save it in CSV format. Once saved in CSV format...

Be sure you edited the proper CSV file. Double checked, twice. C:\Program Files\World War One Gold\Data\DB\Goldscenarios\Grandcampaignfour\TurnRules.csv ...and when that had no effect tried: C:\Program Files\World War One Gold\Data\DB\Scenarios\Grandcampaignfour\TurnRules.csv Both tests started cho...

Yes, it should work till the end of turn 18. For some reason this doesn't work, the units are still mobile. Tried: 416;TR_Immobilized;1;18;TP-Military;GER;GER_50_a,GER_50_b,GER_50_c,GER_50_d,GER_Gar-Qin-Tao ...and got the same results. These changes do not crash the sim but the...

Modding garrisons question

Is there any way to edit files to lock the German colonial garrison in their colonies for the duration? It is becoming a bit tiresome watching them flit around the British controlled high seas capturing ungarrisoned Entente colonies like the Falkland Islands, Singapore or French Indochina. Also seei...

Sad decision, Vainglory in the context of "boastful vanity" so suited the period. Hopefully Paradox will accept Philippe's subtitled version.

Using the 1.08L patch, the steady movement of the Kaiser's Afrikan Legions to the Falkland Islands continues. In October the Kamerun garrison sailed across the South Atlantic under the very noses of the Royal Navy, making a mockery of the concept of sea control. In game terms there are now some 80,0...

I have only seen 1914 strikes happen twice in all the games played to date, once by Event played on Britain by the CP AI and in my current game as France. However given the die-dice randomization system of WW1G there is no reason to doubt BK6583 is seeing a rash of them although I would not be conce...

I'm the most well read regarding WWI but I've read my fair share. Nationalism was very well entrenched (pun intended) before the outbreak of the war... I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. All that you say is accurate to a point but globalization was a huge factor in the economies of the day an...

I would agree with Canuck64 and Panama Red that early war strikes are not unreasonable as the international socialist labour organizations use the war to extract concessions from industry. There is not necessarily a political component to labour unrest and what we see here could just be opportunism ...

Meaning that since land supply won't really work sea supply is the work around fix? You know that the railroad from Suez to Gaza is not active until 1916? This really cramps British offensives into Palestine unless you come through Aqaba or even Aden. (See page 153 of the Big Manual) For some reaso...

Normally, CP are not allowed any transport mission outside European waters :bonk: The solution might be just to lock the German colonial garrisons in their starting locations, except maybe those in East Africa after Portugal enters the war or by event. Based upon some limited experiance authoring scenarios for other games, I suspect that when it comes to game design, the least satisfying and most difficult part is determining victory conditions. They tend to be highly subjective and most players come to ...

Units.xls with proposed naval amendments

1 - Your first task will be to take the Units.xls file in the DB, and add, for each fleet, the squadrons that you need (or modify them, like name changes - I usually used flagship or main type ship name for that part). Once this is done, send it to me or post it here for double-check and that we ca...

I had thought of this but for the Russian Navy to better reflect history the number of squadrons that need to be added does not make it an issue. The Czar's navy is divided by geography with no practical or realistic way to unite and even adding all proposed Russian squadrons together totals no more...

Ran through a test of the 1.08J patch and so far it's all good. Thanks. However, decided to try a 4-Person game as Russia and made some notes regarding the state of the Russian Navy in the game. @Moff Jerjerrod

Thanks for this.

So what I take from this is the movement of each nation's armies and then detachments and finally national command HQ must be complete in all respects before starting activation of the next nation's armies. When all movement is complete the turn can advance.
