Re: Which grand strategy games are considered the best?

Regions, supply and somehow garrison inside buildings are similar. I feel like playing AGEOD game while playing Taiping Rebellion with many factions. Card system much better and combat resolution more transparent. Some players may not like board game dice but is all about dice in combat in games. WE...

Re: Which grand strategy games are considered the best?

I'm currently on the lookout for good grand strategy/empire-building games and wargames. While I don't have a specific era or time period in mind, I'm seeking titles with reasonably good graphics, similar to games like AACW and Europa Universalis. Here's a list of games I already have: 1. Europa Un...

Re: Which grand strategy games are considered the best?

Imperiums: Greek War is also quite good. From what I see AI also use the tools players have in their strategy unlike civilization games. It has a mix of grand strategy and wargame flavour. It has commanders like ACW and FOG Empires. There are some DLC content but they put some of the mechanics into ...

Re: This needs a sequel

There can be many political possibilities from Cards play. And as In Taiping Rebellion under Green Army banners from Anhui to Inner Mongolia there are factions. 19 I've counted so far and some possibilities Nien Bandits, Pingnan Guo, The Hong, Miao uprising and the Dungan for neutral forces. All the...

Re: the Lenin armistice

Leibst will publish Spanish War (full campaign) in Avalon Digital this year did you have spoken with him. New RCW can also be made with this new engine. They could get help about historical details. They recently did Korean War and Taiping rebellion so engine is very adequate.

Emperiums: Greek wars is great. It is a bit surprising any marketing missed the game. But old grognards&players lack of feedback about mechanics and history about this game much more surprising :turc: . I can easily put it best game about ancient besides FG empires.

Yep it is over. With Philippe T. departed. Pocus has most interest with Anglic conflicts. I'm still gratefull for RCW, ROP and Espana. :feu: What is done is done.

Good news. But I've left Slitherine&Matrix forums as they are 'God save the Queen' players. Very good old age nationalists. ;) If any beta here I 'll gladly join. :siffle:

I'm not sure about going for Victoria times. Paradox testing for Victoria 3. Maybe would be better designing about Latin America conflicts such as Bolivar. Anyhow about the audiance Victoria times maybe the best one. Same era with different engine. :hat:

Re: new game

Maybe Bonaparte era only have some interest-about 19th century European Wars- but US and Far east Asia dominates game market. And tactical dimension necessary for pbem nad more players? I've many doubts. :)

I miss Philippe Thibaut's game designs and pbem all I can say.

From my pbem experience it is a game quickly can punish -either side- in smallest mistakes. Whether it is about supply situation or wrong battle.

But all of this points to a solo game. Not a pbem game once me and Narwhal have played Rise of Prussia pbem for Paradox forums. There is already the Total War games exporting campaign to battlefield. What you describe not very traditional Ageod game, all the effort could better be used to create con...

Paradox will capture most with 35 DLC in any book. :) I think the real historical feelings were the local conflicts and PBEM. Still with the latest patch Field of Glory Empires very solid game to play solo.

Re: Is this forum dead ?

Well Slitherine and Matrix Games do have pro-American established community in their games as far as I can tell. Not surprising new Ageod going for it. Still PON and ACW remake could be cool. Hope to see in new engine.

Re: Is this forum dead ?

I believe one of the good aspects of Ageod games were Pbem. Besides being not operational it became more single player oriented recently. That's ok if that's more profitable. Empires was in a few ways closer to some things Philippe Thibaut did before AGEOD was founded. * EU1: He was the author of th...

Re: New Game?

I believe Slitherine&Matrix pure American gaming platform -even Iain McNeil tells :) . It is ok they promote War in the East II. Ageod games started as French&American conflicts. But with modders and devs Espana, Russian civil war, English War, Wars of Succession and Rise of Prussia. Hope to...

Re: New Game?

From the Slitherine site about Field of Glory Medieval: '29 nations and factions covering North and Central Europe from 1040 AD to 1270 AD.' So no Pechenegs but Cumans,no Seljuk Turks and Battle of Manzikert (1071). How it will be compatible- it doesn't need to be of course- with new Ageod game? No ...

I think with these recent games does some one aim for community for only American audience&players?

That seems to be it.

Why do I care? ;)

Anyway I'm with Ageod always. European conflicts first for me best wishes.

It is wonderful how the game evolve into a very good game from a beta stage once. Persian DLC is also quite nice.

I couldn't find in options but is it possible to make written texts bigger. My 1366*768 resolution laptop monitor makes it hard to read all informative texts. Thanks.

The problem is always with cavalry element, especially when your are buoild more cav units at the same time . More cav units you field, more cav chit yu wil need in reserve to build more. I think I've played with Ukrainian and Russian players alot -no Mexicans unfortunately- before RUS gold. It is indeed good game As Durk have said..

Ebbingford is great player I should mention. We've played and solved many AGE conflicts. :dada:

Re: Rise of Prussia, Revolution under Siege and Civil War nostalgia and engine question

All I agree with. What I mention was suddenly a group of modders won't appear with an idea of new ROP to Slitherine for the new engine. It takes time and first they must see XVI – XIX century game. It is not impossible for innovative people but very difficult task. I remember Altaris have designed E...
