I hope that the AI can handle all the systems, that's my biggest concern. As for the new players, I think they need an improved interface compared to the previous ageod games.

this is not unexpected, just see Cities in Motion, another recent game published by paradox: priced 20 € but with the preoder goodies and dlc that we are gonna see for PoN. paradox clearly is taking a gamble with this pricing model, wich is very different from their usual one (40 € as in...

none, matrix never "upgrades" the boxed copies.

the map looks impressive, but I have a few remarks and questions: can you click on a icon and jump to the corresponding stack? can you zoom the strategic map? it looks a little tiny it would be nice if you can get the name of the leader in addition to the name of stack in the tooltips also I have to...

General War Order Number 2: 12 units around Washington DC

hello guys, I'm in the middle of my first AACW campaign, I'm playing as the Union. In early march 1862 I get these 2 events, "General War Order Number 2" and "Nothern papers push for an 1862 offensive". I need "12 units adjacent to Washington DC" and "10 units within 2 regions (of Richmond)" to full...

I'm not a marketing guy, but I'm skeptical about the potential of the timeframe. The little I know of the wargaming world is that a lot of people, when choosing a game, looks at the subject first, and gameplay second, and that's partially true also for the more mainstream strategy audience. And even...

the spanish civil war is extremely close to WW2 and it's still undoubtly a very niche war (outside spain, of course).

my game was non-standard (had the bad idea of switching between 1.06 and 1.07, and it was also my first game, with a fair amount of reloading to understand what was going on) but I virtually beaten the USA without a lot of sweat. Took NY without fighting in spring 1776 while staying on the defensive...

The risk I'd see is that if Victoria is no good it could put people off buying another game about the period. If it is good it will likely raise more interest for VGN (especially with people like a bit more emphasis on war than economics) imho is the opposite...victoria 2 will get a decent amount o...

The more I play games and the more I'm convinced the perceived complexity of a game is made up 50% by the actual gameplay complexity and 50% by the quality of the interface...and a good UI has also a good graphical quality. I'm actually thinking of suggest a bunch of interface tweaks in the VGN foru...

first read about AGEOD in an italian mainstream PC games magazine: it was the one page review of BoA :D I thought "hey nice map" but it ended there. Then I seriously got involved when AGEOD was bought by paradox and the first stuff about RoP come out in the paradox forum.

ok it wasn't just one crash...I got CTDs every time a battle happens. I've tried a clean install and fired up a small scenario but no way, still crashing :( . I didn't play the game much before this week but 1.15 worked fine.

I haven't a lot of experience but IMHO the best one to start is BoA or BoA2. While I agree that the smaller scenarios of AACW are very good, the leap from these ones to the full campaign is really big: the map is HUGE, railroads add another big strategic layer which of course is absent in BoA, and y...
