Well, while there certainly are cases where loyalty could switch towards the opponent (Prussians drafting in Silesia and the citizens longing back to Habsburg rule because of it), I don't see this happening in let's say Berlin (the king is drafting, vivat hoch Maria Theresia!). So what about a NM d...

I see you point but as you said the 15 day turns make it difficult. If the MTSG only works in places that have the right conditions, like suitable roads, are you still against it? The conditions being a few days march distance, i would only see this as realistic and fun. This would mostly limit MTSG...

I agree that MTSG is overpowered but did you consider making it more difficult? Like making a check on days you need to travel, roads, weather conditions? If you totally eliminate it you will see even more massed stacks on the move. What about limiting the amount of Corps per Army to 2-3? I think a ...

Im also starting to think the game should limit the number of corps to 2-3 per army. That is more than enough to have bigger battles than in real life. Your opinion?

Also stacks that MTSG should IMO retreat back to the to the same region they left? In a current game Prince Henri had an Army stack cross the river from Torgau, there was a small Corps in Torgau. This was just a stalling action to kill Austrians. The battle went well regarding casuaties but Henri re...

Apart from the questions in post #7, I also wonder if it makes sense to split up forces within a region if you want to interdict hostile forces passing through. In other words: are tests to engage (evading) enemies carried out per faction in a region, or per stack? If the second is true, then it wo...

Well, I think the extra entrench level provided by the circumvallatio goes a great length to "intercepting" supplies, although I am not sure that siege is not enough by itself... In AJE, the circumvallation mostly serves to protect the besieger, as the game uses simple supply mode. I was thinking s...

Yes, think Circumvallation = Caesar at Alesia...... these are litterally (Latin) 'walls around'... so it applies only to protect your besieging forces from sorties or relief forces :) Sounds good as it is. You can leave a smaller force to continue siege. Can this block all movent/supply inside and ...

To be fair though, Russia is missing several of the world's most talented players, and Bryzgalov may or may not be afraid of the puck (somewhat awkward for a goaltender :neener :) . I should also be mentioned that Prussian regiments had a different organisation on and off the battlefield. Administratively, an infantry regiment had 5 musketeer and 1 grenadier company. On the battlefield, the 5 musketeer companies were reorganised into 4 divisions of 2 platoon each. I presume th...

I would be careful in using wiki as a source for anything, unless you can check out the source material. ;) Duffy makes no mention of any "1757 reinforcements" or of any TO&E changes in 1757. I use them to take MC, act as a vanguard/rearguard, raid behind enemy lines, scouting and border patrol. The 1757 Campaigns in Gold (both normal and MP) are strictly identical to the one we had in the original ROP game, and no one ever complained about such an issue before. I checked the events, there are no events between 175...

And lets not forget that light troops were the eyes and ears of an army (whether it is enough to give them just a slightly higher detection value is open to debate...). They're the ones who are always ahead of the army, often in constant contact with the light troops of the opposing army. Some prim...

You seem to have a very idyllic idea of warfare in the age of "enlightenment". Plundering and worse was by no means exceptional, though it is true that it was primarily the task of light troops. Grenzers and some free corps (e.g. freecorps Mayr) alike, especially in the erz-mountains, were often co...

From the story I get the feeling that it was more an exception than the rule. (and they were hussars, what do you expect :neener :) The requisition of military magazines is a different matter, and is more or less represented by the capture of supply. But in the game, I think such an option would be...

I think what you mean is more like plunder. This represents extra taxes, through the established government. I think plunder was considered uncivilized, and a kind of war that the Age of Enlightenment pretended to have risen above. (unless it would be a matter of life and death for the army). In Ma...

Requisitions regional decision

It seems this works only on your own territory, needs loyalty of 50% in the region. Why is this? Taking contributions was something mostly done to the enemy. Also i noticed some new towns in the Silesian War scenarios, could it be possible to get those in the main campaign? The possibility to take c...

OOB issue that i would call a major. The prussian musketeer and grenadier batallions are missing the reinforcements they historically got in January 57 and the game starts in April 57. So the Prussian player opens his campaign missing fifth of his fighting force. :( I have used the winter in the pre...
