Re: Support Units

Ok. So now I’m confused. This is why I asked. There’s some they say “Headquarters AND Signal Company” and those that say “ Headquarters MEANS NO Signal Company.” See it for yourself, the HQ has 3 little symbols on it showing its Special Abilities, just hover the cursor over it and it should show yo...

Re: What if You Had No Replacements For Light Artillery

Can't remember having ever captured a Rebel 6lb battery but I miss 79 hits on the second page and only 7 on the first. The price difference is also strange, on first page a chit costs 67/2/24, on the second page only 28/3/8 money what looks very strange. PS Now, the values on the first page match th...

Re: Support Units

Welcome...old friend! The HQ and a Signal Co will both add 2 Command Points if in one stack. The Medic Co. will not improve the HQ's ability to boost cohesion recovery. Wait.. what? HQ and Signal company do not stack their bonuses. You only get +2 command points no matter if you them both or multip...

What is with the CW2_DB_Units_v9t.xls file, column G is called ForcePool, does it somehow limit the number of brigades?

Can anyone tell for what the 2 different replacements chits for light artillery are?
I think one is for the 6lb and one for the horse artillery, but which one?

Re: Light Infantry

Would also likely to know the real benefits of them, sure some values look better like higher ROF but other look far worse than regular infantry. As the Union you get a lot of them at the start of the game and I wonder if I should really care for them or better replace them with sharpshooters. Light...

Re: National moral from battles

@Captain_Orso Casualties in the West were about 11.5k Union vs 8k Rebel. But I lost a general, does that matter? In the East it was 6k Union to 2.3k Rebel casualties. Just as comparison I lost a region with a garrison inside a city of which 2 elements were killed and 2 more almost wiped out with abo...

National moral from battles

Is there any logic behind the NM gain or loss by battles?
In the East there was a defeat resulting in 6k losses costing me 3 NM.
In the West I just won a battle with slightly higher losses and dealing almost 8k casualties to the Rebs just to gain ZERO NM.

In that case it would be great if some experienced multiplayer could write down a guide for doing such a multiplayer game so newbees can doge all the problems that could show up.

Blocking river crossing

Can anyone explain the mechanic of naval units blocking river crossings?
Happened to me several times but I just don't have a clue what is needed to work, is there any ratio of naval units vs ground forces that I have to meet to prevent them from crossing?

Thanks, just wondering if the merchants also have a diminishing effect on the returns so that it may not be wise to add too many transports as there are 9 Union merchants squadrons by 63.

So only 2 Dollars? That means 11 turns to get the 22 money back.
Besides transports, raising loyalty in money making regions and taxes & bonds, any other way to make money?

Re: Training/Upgrading of militia, volunteers & conscripts

Does the Line Infantry ProgRate of 10 matter? I think they don't train up to elite or do they? Having conscripts only of conscription is activated sounds fine but indeed huge changes would be needed. I see it the way that men for volunteer elements have a much lower requirement than conscripts would...

Re: Training/Upgrading of militia, volunteers & conscripts

If that would be done then the ProgRate for the various elements would have to be adjusted. Currently it's basically impossible that volunteer elements train up, they have a ProgRate of 15 while the the usual infantry element has only 5. The current "conversion" from volunteer to line elem...

Ok but why did it work for some turns and now not?
Can't imaging that it was some time limited, maybe the Confederate pulled something off but what could that be?

Re: The Blockade System Explained

Is there a reason that the distant blockade feature does not apply on New Orleans?
I had NO blocked by taking Fort Jackson & Fort St Philip, blockade value rose to 70%.
This turn it's back in 55% and the blockade symbol isn't showing up for NO.

Re: Colored Troops military option

Indeed, sorry for the trouble.
But I guess the event is tied to the turn(early Sept. 1862), maybe it would be better to tie it to either a battle with a large NM gain or at least the Union reaching a high level(at least 100) of NM.

Re: How to Brown Water Blockade certain important CSA ports

I've checked the GameLogic.opt of CW2 and so far I think the amount of blocking elements that are shown in the tooltip already incorporates any bonus/malus from forts. And these do not stack there is only a single -4/+4 applied no matter how many forts are there. But the same effect as a fort can co...
