Glad you got the amphib landings to work, but changes to the Corps structure rules are not going to happen. A corp that gets far enough away from it's parent army HQ in effect becomes an independant command and loses the mutual support capability of that HQ and other Corps until reassembled at the ...

New Scenarios in developmet?

As the title said - anything new being developed? The game is wonderful - really. Is modding time frames feasible? I worked as a developer on Matrix Game's War In The Pacific/Admiral's Edition...has anyone thought of making a nice Scenario Builder like that game has? Just asking....it would make thi...

Post Mortem

Hi all, Thank all of you for reading and responding. Here's how it all finally ended. After reading everyone's advice - I got the game to work. I landed at Kent with most of the Grande Armee. I took Kent, Winchester, and advanced to London where a great battle was fought. The game works...as I assum...

Sorry but I am really frustrated now. I took Ebbingford's advice above. I only loaded 298 weight on the Boulogne Flotilla's transports (which hold 300)....and gave them an immediate sail order to Dover/kent sea area. They DID load, and they took the army with them. But they wouldn't land! No...

If you leave the army loaded on transports in dock without a move order, then the army will be disembarked for the next turn. ;) Make sure that the weight of the stack you are trying to load is less than the transport capacity of the fleet. Hover the mouse over both units and the tooltip will tell ...

Help! Frustrated with amphibious landing.

Hello all, I am pleading for help here. I am playing the Invasion of England 1804-1805 scenario as the French (the bigger challenge for naval warfare). I have been successful in gaining victories over the British at sea - and consequently raising the quality of my naval forces...but I cannot manage ...

Question on Frontage

Hi all, and sorry if this topic has been raised before, but this is an important aspect to understand in this game. But after reading the manual I am stumped on figuring out frontage. How does one go about calculating: 1) Unit Frontage 2) the Frontage Rating for an area This has continually stumped ...

I already had this data... and tried the scenario with that same OOB on both sides... With such a setup implemeted, the result is even worse than present, and totally a-historicall: the US gets soundly beaten and the whole of New England is subdued in a matter of months :niark: What we could do is ...

May be the very first step to take would be to provide us, in an Excel-type format, with the list and detailed OOB's you would feel as "fairly" close to reality. Fron that source, I could quickly provide you with modified scenarios to test... and see the result :niark: Hi, Ok, here is what I have f...

By the way, I don't mean to give the impression that the British are "overpowered" in Boston and therefore need to reduce the numbers of British troops... not at all. In fact it seems tome that the British in Boston, Apr 1775, are actuall short a couple units. More to the point - it's just that the ...

to be more precise, we can give you the guidelines and the utility tool to make scenarios, but this is not an 'editor' per se... You won't get anytime soon a full drag&drop editor which allow you to do anything you want in-game, like (example among others) the one of Civ4. You will have to type tex...

Hi, PhilThib is in charge of the OOBs (amongst many things) so I will let him answer the various points. About the editor and about modding: We started some months ago the documentation about how to create scenarios, but given our time constraints on the 2nd game we never finished writing the prope...

It is always difficult to recreate a historical scenario where the real-life outcome was heavily influenced by luck or incompetence. Do you model the fluke or the potential? The British probably could have lifted the seige of Boston and throttled the colonials any number times, especially early on....

I agree that British are too strong (I have posted already my experience on that in a PBEM playing as British) you can force a battle in may, when Howe force arrives, just by moving your army out of Boston despite the leader not being activated if the American player has not lifted the siege. Histo...

Editor

I am just checking out this game for the first time, I have a question -

Is there any kind of Editor for scenarios or units?

A full Editor to create new scenarios and units would be a great addition if it does not already exist.... :sourcil:

Continental Navy

Hi, my first post on this forum. Regarding the American Continental Navy; As I recall reading -America did build, equip, and put to sea - some 13 Frigates for the Continental Navy between1776 and 1778. I believe 5 were 32's, 5 were 28's, one was a 36..(can't recall the rest in detail). This is above...
