I even have Corps commanders that had a 3 strat rating at first, and at some point went down to 2. Erasmus Keys and Edwin Sumner both did it. It's quite frustrating.

My Generals Lose Stats

All of my 1* generals go from 3-1-1 to 1-0-0 when I activate division command for them. Is that normal or is it a bug?

A lot of my generals have also dropped strategic ratings over time. Is that normal too?

Wrong. Try reading some real Civil War history books instead of Civil War condensed short story books. McDowell planned the flanking movement prior to the Union army moving out of Centreville on the 21st of July 1861. Since he was the commander of the army I think that pretty much qualifies as a Hi...

Forum-related newb question

I've searched the board and can't seem to find an answer, so I'll ask here. What do all the military ribbons in some members' signatures mean?

And he would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for those meddling --er, generals, "Shanks" Evans and Cocke. BTW, how's this for weird generals? 13 McCooks served in the war; there was a Union general named Paul St. George Cooke and a Confederate named Paul St. George Cocke; there were...

You'll probably have to post the saved game files also, but even then there'll probably be a few days wait. Pocus is on vacation and crash problems with v1.14 will have to wait for him to look into it. Sorry for the inconvenience. I e-mailed the game files to the support e-mail address. Should I st...

Game Keeps Crashing

My game keeps saying a critical error has occurred and closes itself. I've tried rebooting, restarting the game, and even rolling back to the previous turn but it keeps doing it every time I end turn in late April, 1862. Is there any way to salvage the game? I'm doing fairly well and I'd like to not...

I just started reading this AAR a few turns ago, but I'm really enjoying it. THis may be a stupid question, but how do you get the estimates for yours and the opponent's troop numbers?

I'm a new member to the board, but I've played AACW off and on for a little while and it is absolutely brutal to new players that aren't used to the engine. It's very frustrating, but not in an unfair advantage kind of way, more of a "crap, I didn't even think to defend that spot" kind of way. Right...
