Area Status Indicators Gone

I just installed the patch and have started a new game. Overall things seem to be working as advertised, but none of the normal status indicators, such as besieged, breached, pillaged, frozen, or blockaded are visible. Thanks! I AM using Vista and had no idea that was going on. I'll hunt down the location.

If anyone else can give me any tips I'll appreciate the help. Me and any other folks trying to get PBEM down.
