It sometimes happens with low disk space. If thats the case, as soon as you clear it, everything shold work fine.

I have Win 7 and my saves are in the usual place GAME FILE/RUS/SAVES (they are huge and just erasing a few of old ones should clear up few gigs)

siege problems

I have a problem with besieging Azov. Three armies are stranded there for 6 turns (at least one of them activated at each turn and with assault posture) but they never initiated combat. All of the defenders were in the city, so they probably couldnt have evaded combat, but nothing happened turn afte...

The commisar has a grudge on human opponent?

Not being completely serious here, but how come Stalin opposes my armies wheater Im playing Siberian or Southern Whites? Is he scripted to go and fight human player, or just goes where the biggest danger lurks at the time, or was that just accidental? On few occasions he was pushing towards Ekaterin...

Thanks for the answers. I thought the Chech kamikaze push to be a "bit" gamey, but currently i need all the gaminess i can get to try to win. ;) (will change that) Currently death of starvation is a much more serious threat than death by lead poisoning for my troops, esp with southern whites. It see...

Things Id suggest from RUS experience so far

Here are some things about AI I'd suggest: 1. Red AI seems to always declare war on Finns first chance they get, only to mass forces in Petrograd or nearby and never attack. As Finn Army is at least equal at that time (possibly even stronger) and well supplied in Viipuri, only thing that happens is ...

Although i have no recommendations for a detailed and thorough warplan analysis, if you haven't yet picked up Barbara W. Tuchman's "The Guns of August", you should give it a try. Even if it doesn't answer all of your questions, it is a really good read. It was that book that got me searching for WW1...

force pool peeking

When the combat round finishes, you can see AIs entire force dispositions for a brief period (enough to scroll and check them all out, except reinforcements). Is that supposed to be so, or are we "cheating" if we look at them? Can our opponent (AI or otherwise) see all of our involved corps as well?

things id like to see patched

Just to say I loved the game even in its former (a bit too crashy perhaps) state, but since the gold came out my social life suffers, my work suffers and my hobby poker game suffers. It is just so great and immersing and goosebumps inducing... Here are some changes/patches and questions I would prop...

I think the Sankamish city (I saw it in Tamas excellent AAR in Turkey, didnt yet load the map myself) should be Sarikamish.

AI sieges

I have been playing RoP against AI for some time now and I have to say I like the challenge very much. However, one thing seems to happen over and over again and it sometimes really messes with the game balance. AI armies seem all to eager to abandon (almost) successful sieges and start long marches...

What happens to "invincible" army HQs of a country, if you take their every territory? Can they still get reinforcements or does it really disappear? (I got Greek armies on my side with nothing to do really, so they can do the territory grabbing instead of Bulgaria, which drifts towards CP ever so s...

Serbia

I was wondering... Can A-H ever leave Serbian front unattended? As Serbia never surrenders and empty army stacks never leave the map, how can we know when they are not going to receive (considerable) reinforcements anymore, so we can redeploy to face Russian forces? Id hate to transport majority of ...

...and lets you attack relatively weak Cote d'azur defenses with your whole Italian force (not sure how that works out, but it seems Italia mobilizes two big armies that are free to deploy/move there in the middle of 1915.) If Italians break into France there, dont see that anything can stop them fr...

questions/suggestions

Played for a bit the last few days on 1.0.4e, and i have a few questions/suggestions ... 1) Is the combat resolution window working properly? (sometimes the number of destroyed units doesnt match actual losses, or so it seems) 2) Is the OUT OF COMBAT number a part of DESTROYED UNITS total, or are th...

I just read the boardgame rules and they say: "Each player may question his opponent to verify if it will be a Major Battle by asking him if he has at least 4 corps in line (other than the reserve). If so the combat is resolved as a Major battle." Dont know what happens if you forget to ask... does ...

Well, as the interface is made for both flanks, but so many battles are small ones (at least before the grand offensives start) i kind of get used to just focusing in the left. One more question... does putting units in commited box have any effect on duration of the battle? I mainly deploy them (in...

By the time you hit engage and see its not working, you have already misdeployed... but i guess the solution is not commiting anything but one corps, and deploying the rest freely in a small battle from the rear sector, or deploying correctly after the engage button warns you that youre in the big b...

But i imagine while playing a boardgame, we are well aware if the battle is small one or big one and can deploy accordingly. On the other hand, in the combat resolution window of a computer version, it is easy to overlook that same fact and deploy entire force on only one flank and then realize (whe...

Could it be made possible in a future patch to shift forces from left to right commitment boxes in a battle (until you press the engage button for the first time, of course)? Its not pleasant to lose a big battle just because one didnt see it was a big battle, and has deployed all of ones troops to ...

I have absolutely no sound in the game. However: - media player can normaly play any of the sound and music files for the game - the appropriate boxes are marked in the cofiguration screen - the in game menu sound options are not grayed out (as they were for me in the unpatched version) So im guessi...
