Pardon James? 99% of the games since have removed the freedom of building your own units as you well know. The developers, both of them, will remember me asking for a better policing method in ACW on province control. (it effects supply and made the army of militia needed, as the Blues, very silly) ...

Merci Fenrus,

I will remain astonished to my grave as to why this pointless war killed so many of our ancestors.

You may have thought that if ANY lesson was to be leant then, then WWI was it, but no, still governments, as usual via media, go on pushing us.

Thus ever was sadly.

Thank you Mickey.

Finally I have the answer I wanted.
So freedom of choice remains an option then.
I can actually decide what what I wish to do within an AGEOD game since the original ACW??? Fantastic!........................................... Shame about all the others inbetween then.

A few key points well made Stwa, AGEOD was clearly told at the time exactly what the problems were by their customers. The fact that BOAII felt like an exact replay of BOA, but this time with the added thrill of "the fort/depot has bean destroyed!" instilled no confidence. How exactly is the player ...

I too loved the original, I was already annoyed with things like the 8 month winters in BOA so expected better in BOAII. The British are set to lose was another thing, just balance it more and be honest with real history. In BOA I actually edited real winters, currently playing all the major scenari...

Thank you Merlin. I can be rest assured that I'll buy this game unlike the £120 I wasted on almost every single game AGEOD has produced since the original ACW that made them, (and then promptly forgot): about WHY it was so successful...... (instead of JUST automatic replacements you could actually d...

Hi Grim. Put simply I just want to know if I can raise Regiments, Cannon, Warships etc that I decide I need, or if I have the bizarre "replacement" system AGEOD has adopted in many games, even as the units get destroyed they are earmarked to replace. I want a fluid war where new regiments are raised...

I'm sure it seemed funny but nobody gets our sense of British humour. For you miserable non-British people who just don't get our understated sense of humour this was us taking the piss out of our past governments, acting in a way we'd never allow now, but laughing at the cheek past governments that...

Hi mate, I was just asking about reports for this version! My comment on choices offered by AGEOD are firmly directed towards all design decisions made between the two versions of ACW, wherin they seemed to have dumbed down the products and forced the player to do exactly what should have happened i...

Thanks mate, In other words they have tried to complicate an already complicated (but balanced) game even further then? Is the game, by comparison to the original only, a hit or a miss in your opinion? I'm reluctant to spend ever more money on any AGEOD game when AGEOD now seems to decide what you s...

The problem with this scenario is you can, as the French, take all the objective cities and should then win the game. I did it about 20 turns. However the AI will not recognise the victory, and given you lose 1 morale point whilst the AI gains one per turn you are on a long hard road to defeat given...

Can you raise troops?

Hi all, I have the original ACW and was able to RAISE and CHOOSE your troops. Since then I've brought about 6 AGEOD games, none of which, other than PON allow you to do this. Does ACWII allow you to do this? Spending time over a two-four year scenario that doesn't even allow the customer to build a ...

The entire planet uses the logical system:

Smallest first to largest last.

The last nation on earth still having this system considers that the middle value (month) should be placed ahead of the lowest value (days).

The rest of the planet places them in order: Lowest/middle/last (D/M/Y).

The MM/DD/YYYY has been out of date since I was a UK child, in fact since the Victorian era.

It is ether thus since at least then.

Us in the UK would welcome an end to the last nation on the planet to still use this illogical method. Its days are over.

I should add, This scenario was a key pivotal moment within our common European history, within that era only Waterloo beat it in shaping OUR history, yet the designer has chosen to turn it into an utter joke. Have they fixed the Russian Cavalry yet?

I made a file that actually displayed the railways as you built them. Playing as Russia I did all of her territory but abandoned the game as the AGEOD team were "too busy" to fix a bug that left the player of Russia unable to EVER upgrade the Russian Cavalry, and in those days cavalry was important,...

France or Russia invating whom?

The march to Moscow was one of the scenario's I saved up to the last as I considered it would be one of the most interesting ever made by AEGOD, a French company offered. Instead I got the Russian Empire going rampant through Southern Poland and invading the French Empire in Europe. I was quickly sw...

You can always archive the turn that was just processed, by manual mean (or you can do that once every 3 turns, then delete the 3 backups). from a pure game perspective, disregarding history here. If we ever get a Pon 2, it's the economic model I'd love to see over hauled. If X nation produces 50 wood, no coal , no wheat, but 50 fish and 50 meat, needs 100 food then I expect the nation to cook that food and eat it on wood fires. It's history and accurate. Only from the previous century have u...
