I feel like an idiot, but I've been searching the forum and the AGEOD site and cannot find the link to the 1.16rc4a patch.

I purchased mine from trymedia as well. I have the activation code but it does no good. I sent a copy of my receipt to support@ageod.com and I;m hoping I will hear something back soon. This all happened when I tried to move AACW from my laptop to my desktop. The version that transferred is only the ...

Ok, found it. Joe, Within Sherman's Corp are the units including the divisions and the bdes. Click on the 6th division then ctrl click on the KY Volunteer unit you are supposed to merge. A button to the left with a "+" sign will light up. Press this to add the unit to the 6th Division. You can now r...

I think we lost tyhe point of Joe's imitial post as I am running into the same problem in 1.15. In the tutorial you asked to move the KY Volunteers unit, the Nash Arty unit and the 1st Color Bgde to Shermans Corp. That is done easily by drag and drop. The problem then is that the tutorial asks you t...

Using the E and R keys cycles you through all land stacks that are without orders and aren't on sentry. T and Y does the same for naval stacks. In my opinion, these keyboard shortcuts arre essential in making the game manageable once you start getting a certain number of troops in the field :) I'm ...

Art99, It is a very complex game and there are many things that cause me to pull out my hair until I figure out a reason for them. It's not perfect. I think you have to cycle through every unit that is not set to sentinel to find out who is locked and who isn't and its a lot to keep treck of. But I ...

Well, the game is over. My overall strategy worked though with a large number of mistakes along the way. My overall strategy from the start was to exert pressure on the Confederacy on all fronts and keep up the pressure and bring the Unions superior resources to bear. I guess I did this in the end a...

OK, Heading into 1864 (it's late Dec. 1863) and things are looking alright. Especially now that I have come upon another volunteer call and partial mobilization option. I will have a question on that in a moment. In the west I have finally cleared Iowa and almost all of MO and taken Springfield. Jef...

An update: Well a lot has happened and much of it good though it looks as if it could turn on me at any minute, Starting from west to east In the far west a second front has opened up. Doubleday and Reno's force landed near Galveston and immediately laid siege to Galveston. The entire stack of Doubl...

Another quick note. While it may have been that the forces that took Ft. Laramie, WY were visible to me because I had nobody near it. It appears that the CSA force under Richard B. Anderson and Bushrod Johnson (same force) moved from Ft. Laramie WY to CHicago, IL in a maximum of two turns. This woul...

Just a quick note. The force under Doubleday (which totals about 290) arrived outside Galveston after a 20 day voyage from Brooklyn. I magine my surprise when I found a CSA fleet containing a a division under Forney with about a 300 power ALSO landing at Galveston! How the heck did they know I was c...

Any opinions on how many troops I will need to hold that Ft. Smith, Springfield Lafayette axis? You are probably right that McCook perished due to lack of supplies trying to make his way across the NW AK plains in winter already low on supply. Too bad, he was a pretty good Indian fighter. My force o...

Well, lack of supply did bit McCook in the butt. After taking Fayetteville with roughly 5,000 men and leaving about 1200 militia behind in SPringfield, McCook ran out of supply and Springfield fell. I tried to move McCook back to Leavenworth but that fell to Van Dorn and winter set in. Attacked in I...

Well, finally in late July I went in with two corps of close to 60,000 men who WOULD assault while the others stayed in defensive mode. I had close to 150,000 men by this time and Beau had roughly 40,000. It was costly, Whipple's corp lost 30,000 men in one attack, but I eliminated the force in Balt...

Frustration, frustration. My generals will not ATTACK!

I realize that the strategic rating of a general has an impact on whether or not they can be active but this is killing me. I am playing the grand campaign and am currently in June of 1862. I decided to spend the early part of the war trying to seal the Ohio River with militia and sealing the rivers...

Thanks enalut, and don't worry, it was not long-winded :) It seems in my first campaign game I have made every mistake you can make. WHile I hold the east and have taken Nashville, my forces are so spread out that it appears they are very fragile. I have lost St. Louis and the CSA frequently raids i...

1862, July-August Not a good two months for the Union. As I feared, my forces were too disorganized and spread out in the west and I paid for it. Sumner's exhausted and incohesive division and Fremont's force were soundly thumped by Van Morrell and two other divisions near Jefferson City. Lyons for...

First time campaign, Union

I have had the game for a couple of weeks and am completely addicted. I had played three scenarios and being a Chicago Yankee played the Union (default settings) each time> Having won those three I decided to try my hand at the campaign game as the Union. Basic strategy I decided to look at the map ...

One other thing that I seem to have trouble with is the smaller or medium scale of battles in game. I'm not complaining, but it seems like it is pointless to form many corps right away since forming corps means you have to keep them in teh same stack and that leaves a lot of front lines uncovered. I...

Best way to organize?

I am playing my first campaign game as the Union and some things are going well, not always by design. For example, Magruder bypassed Harpers Ferry and was moving up towards Harrisburg. Nathaniel Banks was a couple counties east of Magruder just staying out of the way, and at the same time some rein...

I figured out what happened. I only had Grants tab on assault and the two corps with him were in an offensive stance, they were not attacking Memphis. When I fixed this it went fine.

I'm trying it again, if it happens again I will try and post. One possibility may be an error on my part. With my forces in Shelby outside Memphis I have tried dragging my army on top of Memphis but don't see any indication taht I am assaulting Memphis. I am just assuming that since Memphis is CSA c...

Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy the game. Which "assault" are you using? The top red assault button or the bottom one? The top one (bigger) is the one you need to make sure is pressed to ensure you go in an all out attack to storm the city. I've tried both, but always wi...

I'll admit, it is a tough game. A few newb questions

So far I have just played the demo (I have the full game) and am trying to learn my way around, but I am stuck on a few things in the two times I have played the game. 1. Taking a city. I have followed the tutorial to create the two large corps in the Army of Tennessee and the smaller Army of Ohio. ...
