Transport ships transported 20 supply points oversea?

It's my first game, playing the confederacy, and until now, according to the log messages when my ships were placed in the "shipping lanes" box, I interrupted northern supply and in the "blockade" boxes, they were giving me some extra supply. I was letting them in the blockade bo...

Well...I first saw an AGEOD game (Napoleon's campaigns) in a shop (a small retailer, not any large chain) while on a game buying spree. But actually I did not buy it (I only remember it because I hesitated a lot) because I had never heard of it and wasn't sure I would enjoy it (and the retailer didn...

I would generally go for (9) in theory. That's because I know out of experience that the price has essentially zero relevance to the quality of the game. There are a lot of crappy and/or very bugged games and/or games I don't enjoy at all sold for 49.99 and excellent and/or very stable games and/or ...

Problem with the %age of ownership of a region

With my current barbarian nation, my historic goal is to take over 56% of Northern Gaul. However, the percentage owned, as indicated in the ledger, doesn't seem to match what I actually own. It's always lower (I checked for both the %age of provinces owned, and the percentage of the total population...

A horde absorbs the local population, OK. However, I've two more questions : 1) I found it a little annoying because it reduced quickly the local population to zero. And I assumed it was a *bad* thing. But you're saying you do that on purpose. So, is it better to have in your provinces a very small...

I do not know, really. Maybe some side effects, or a chain of side effects... :8o: Well, actually, it seems that hordes do absorb the local population. Indeed this can be a sort of "design" bug that we never realised about! :bonk: I'll try to replicate the condition and to find a solution. If there...

Some questions about barbarians and hordes

I just began a game paying "green" and there are some thingsq I don't quite understand. -Three of my provinces don't have a "head" indicating the population living in them. Is that normal? -Two of those are provinces where I moved my two hordes. In one case, there's now no rural population in the pr...

Indeed. I mistook DiVX for directX. And it's not the first time I do that. That's probably why I remembered having had a similar problem in the past. Thanks.

Not seeing the intro scene

I just got a new electronic copy of "Great Invasions" thanks to Philippe Thibaut ( I had a disk copy and wanted the patch), but when I launched it, I just got a black screen, even though I could hear the sound (like the "NO-BI-LIS" at the beginning). It took me a while (trying to update my drivers, ...

Sorry no. If you are french, there is also a french forum for BOA1. Quite funny, two French speaking in English. :) Yes, but I tend to visit English-speaking forums because there's much more traffic on them, so it's generally quicker to get an answer there. In this particular case, it indeed doesn'...

You are speaking on the BOA1 forum on purpose? Err...After checking out... yes... (I hadn't noticed there was a BOA2 when I downloaded it, nor paid attention to the other forum. Fortunately, BoA 2 could not run on my computer, so there's no regret to have). Some generals can be promoted in BOA2, bu...

What are "irregulars"?

Irregulars units have some advantages in the game. However, I'm unsure about what units are considered irregulars. Indians and "courriers" / rangers are irregulars, and if I'm not mistaken, so is light infantry ( and does this include light infantry from "regular" armies like French or British troop...

Generals can be promoted?

When you open the commander's description, it mentions "can't be promoted".

I don't see anything in the manual referring to the promotion of generals. Was it a feature that was never implemented, or is there a way to promote an experienced general to a higher rank?

As a rule, the latest full version includes latest patches... might be a slight difference by a day or two in some cases....that's why you know have the Update button in the menu to check if you have the latest game version :indien: I hadn't noticed this button. But since I downloaded the game last...

Sorry no, after the legacy patch (which was the 13th, not counting subpatch!), BOA1 is now considered completed. As much as a computer project can be finished... Et au passage : lorsqu'on télécharge le jeu, je suppose que tous les patches sont déjà inclus, et qu'il n'est donc pas nécessaire de le p...
