Ships in port for defense?

This seems bugged. As the Union, the ai captured Norfolk. I counter attack and they are led by Farragut as a 3 star general using his navy ratings as a ground commander and they had 450+ cannons because their entire fleet was sitting there. Needless to say, I got pretty much creamed. Known issue? I ...

Damn, that's quite the exploit. I'll have to watch out for someone doing that in PBEM. I think it would unbalance the game.

It is also good to see a great community is behind these games. I cannot believe that these games have been flying underneath my radar this long. It's because you go to places like Gamespot and they get absolutely terrible reviews from the mainstream crowds. Apparently a good game = bells and whist...

Abilities are al listed at the end of the manual, and that's pretty clear now. On command ratings now I'm even seeing corps if in range (they become ind by default if out of range) benefit somewhat from the army commanders ratings. In my little world (my little world is known to be a strange discomb...

I find it's always helpful tyo keep the pdf manual up in the background and use the "search" function whenever you have a question. If it's not answerable or unclear come here. I'm actually in the middle of a game and doing this very thing as we speak. :p I'm on day 8 btw and things are still hazy.....

Ok, just so we have the terminology and hierarchy straight: -> Corps/Army, Stack commander (stats and sp. abilities benefits entire stack at 100%) -> Independent, non-div commanders in stack. Abilities (such as Artillerist 20% combat bonus for all artillery units in the Stack ) benefit the entire st...

Oh another thing on div hqs. The manual says you can have up to 18 elements in a single div. Do all elements in this div benefit from the div commander's stats or do they default to the corps/army commander stats? Is there any penalty to always max these stacks out?

Thanks

Thanks. I guess the manuals in these games get outdated quickly. :)

If you're past the training period and have a uncombined HQ (no commander yet) the redeploy button should be highlighted. Click it then left click on the territory you want. It should immediatelly redeploy. If it doesn't it's probably a bug.

Division HQs

Has this feature been disabled? Specifically HQs w/out commanders present. I'm not seeing where or how you create them?

I have a couple other uses and refinements for them. I have some self-imposed rules about when it is a good idea to use this strategy. All of which I will discuss in public sometime in the future.

Hah, guess we'll have to ask your PBEM opponents.

I think this also explains the high losses in the Gettysburg tests I've done. I was wondering why Stuart did not retreat on turn 1. Then I found out that The MC was all 100% Union around him!. The ZOC rule came into effect on a couple of occasions too. Seems the high casualties are a direct result ...

In regards to the OP, I don't know if this applies, but it is taken directly from the manual and may be the root of the probhlem: You cannot retreat from battle into completely hostile territories (i.e. 5% or less military control) ... doing so will result in complete destruction... If you engaged i...

Great game!

Thanks for the great game. I've actually posted recommendations on other forums and hopefully we all can so it can get the monetary support it needs.

PS Thank you France for saving us in the first revolution so we could have another. :)

Never hurts to get two games going at once. Play as opposite sides. :)
